Hillary Clinton tries to end controversy over private email account
Los Angeles Times ^ | March 11, 2015 | Paul Richter, Vera Haller and Mark Z. Barabak

"....The former senator from New York said the server had been installed to ensure digital security for her husband, former President Clinton. She said it was still guarded by the Secret Service and had never been hacked.

Nonetheless, she said that last fall she approved the destruction of slightly more than half of the emails she wrote or received as America’s top diplomat during President Obama’s first term — because they were “private and personal.” The remainder were forwarded to the State Department.

“No one wants their personal emails made public,” Clinton told reporters who packed a hallway outside the United Nations Security Council after she had delivered a speech at a conference on empowering women. Two dozen TV crews ensured her comments ran live on several networks."...

..“During her time at State, she communicated with foreign officials in person, through correspondence, and by telephone. The review of all of her emails revealed only one email with a foreign (UK) official.”..

....She asserted that government rules allowed every federal employee to judge which emails are personal and can therefore be deleted — a claim that some Republicans challenged....

Hillary’s 55,000 pages of emails is a costly, logistical nightmare

http://money.cnn.com/2015/03/11/technology/security/hillary-email-paper/

“In an act of semi-transparency, Hillary Clinton has handed the State Department 55,000 pages of emails for public release — but in paper, not their original electronic format.

That complicates things.

By doing it that way, Clinton has made it harder and more expensive for the federal government to quickly review her emails and decide what’s OK for the public and what’s not.

It also makes it a lot harder to tell if Clinton’s telling the truth that she turned over all work-related emails. At a press conference at the United Nations on Tuesday, Clinton assured reporters that she provided “all my emails that could possibly be work-related.”

First, the cost. The State Department hasn’t said how much it’ll be. Trial lawyers say it’ll probably cost tens of thousands of dollars, but costs could quickly rise if multiple agencies become involved. Bloomberg reports that it could cost taxpayers more than $1 million.

The State Department will probably scan them all to make them digital again (a process that’s maybe 30 hours long). Then it’ll have to run optical character recognition software on it to make it searchable (up to another 30 hours). Then its lawyers will read them line-by-line to block out material deemed classified (taking a few weeks or months).

Trial lawyers who are used to suing big companies say this is a classic “data dump.” That’s when a company fighting a lawsuit attempts to slowdown opponents by drowning them in unorganized information that’s difficult to comb through.”......

Rush is 100% wrong. This is personality-driven. This is Obama, on a rage of personal destruction, intended to destroy Hillary.

If this controversy dies down, Obama has enough information that another will emerge. And another. And another. Until, at some point, Hillary is either under formal charges, or drops out.

Even though the emails in question are most likely beyond recovering, Hillary will still do whatever she can to deny any third party computer forensic expert access to her server. To effectively delete such email records so as to place them beyond the reach of forensic specialists one would employ DOD level scrubbing software that overwrites storage media up to thirty times - something an average person would not contemplate unless they were seriously wanting to hide something from ever being discovered.

However, I believe she plans on sticking to her story and stonewall strategy no matter what, and since such scrubbing activity would not be seen as an innocent act, and the fact that it may have occurred is not hard to prove, I suspect she has already employed the IRS/Lois Lerner tactic, i.e. destroying the storage media in question. It might well work because in this case I seriously doubt Hillary’s servers relied upon redundant off-site backup systems in the control of others for safekeeping...which is what eventually tripped up the IRS. In Hillary’s case such backups would be easily accessible.

Actually the pertinent question is “how many other Cabinet officials are using private email accounts?”

No disagreement here.

The memory loss from the head injury should now be a major concern.
She can't remember what she said 2 weeks ago.
She either had two phones and lost one, or forgot she carries/carried two phones.
Either way, we now know we cannot trust her with the RED PHONE at 3 in the morning....like what happened in Benghazi.

“Wedding stuff? We want the “yoga routines” too!”

I don’t know about that last stuff. My wife and I were at the library and an old leftie had on her yogo pants/slacks/trousers. It took both of us about 2 hours to get our appetites back.
