Sad news for the dozens of people (literally) who watch MSNBC. I’d love to see their advertising rate card right now; when you’re airing national shows that attract a smaller audience than many local radio programs, it takes a certain amount of chutzpah to approach advertisers, let alone convince them to pay good money to reach your micro audience.
I really don’t think they have any profitability targets.
Comcast makes $7b a year or so in profit, and PMSNBC is just a vehicle to preach to regime partisans.
I’d guess NBCUniversal packages the advertising with their many other channels like Syfy, USA, Telemundo and even Hulu.
MSNBC is basically an unreported campaign contribution to the DNC.
