Exactly right. I feel sorry for her family. They must feel such guilt over not stopping her from going over there, regardless of what they may say publicly.

They said they were proud of what she was doing. Not sure why they were proud of her work with the ISM group or the fact that she was in SYRIA with her boyfriend. It doesn't sound like she was there for purely altruistic reasons.
