Dr. Ben Carson: No "Philosophical" Or "Religious" Exemptions For Vaccinations

Dr. Ben Carson, a likely 2016 GOP presidential contenders, believes there should be no “philosophical” or “religious” exemptions for vaccinations. “Although I strongly believe in individual rights and the rights of parents to raise their children as they see fit, I also recognize that public health and public safety are extremely important in our society,” Carson told The Hill.

Dr. Ben Carson should move to North Korea.

He just lost my vote.

If you believe in the Vaccine, then take it and you have nothing to fear.

Only an Authoritarian control freak would force someone against their will.

Vaccines is the new Global Warming rubbish.

I promise if you study up each side. This means go to the source, and not what one side tells you what the other side is saying. Then it becomes very clear. Who is B.S.ing you and who is not.

I can save you a lot of time and tell you stay the h*ll away from this stuff.

The sickest people that have the most medical issues are those that take the vaccines and the prescriptions.

We are moving into a libertarian age, saying things like this is not going to sell.

Well, there could be special non-vaccination private schools, I suppose...but I sure wouldn’t send my kid to one.

I think they could allow religious exemptions, the way they do for Jehovah’s Witnesses on the blood transfusion issue, but even that is often decided in court because the risk to the child is so great. And those kids would simply have to go to schools where children are admitted without a vaccination certificate.

Childhood diseases are a sure thing in unvaccinated children, and they bring blindness, deafness, sterility or even death...all perfectly preventable, except that their parents are the victims of “witchdoctor science,” which is the thing that keeps African villagers from getting vaccination or even modern treatment for diseases that were disappearing from the civilized world and have taken root again in Africa.

The witchdoctor doesn’t have to have a religious connotation, btw; many of the parents who are not having their children vaccinated are middle class Evangelicals in the thrall of health quacks at their churches, or upper middle class atheist parents who think that Johnny is going to “get autism” from a non-Earth friendly vaccination, ignoring the fact that autism is actually most common among what is probably their major ethnic group and class.

He’s never been a real possibility. Saying they support him makes some conservatives feel better. They can tell their liberal friends they’re really not racist.

If Carson were white he might be a candidate for a seat in the House but I’m not sure he’d win.

“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. They may be more likely to go to Heaven yet at the same time likelier to make a Hell of earth. This very kindness stings with intolerable insult. To be “cured” against one’s will and cured of states which we may not regard as disease is to be put on a level of those who have not yet reached the age of reason or those who never will; to be classed with infants, imbeciles, and domestic animals.”

- C.S. Lewis

The “public good” will soon result in a government mandated purchase of a new car (ecologically blessed, of course) every 4 years... or else. After all, if the government can make you buy insurance, what limit is there to its power?

So, what then, Ben? Vaccinations at the point of a gun? Do the parents and/or children get thrown in jail indefinitely until they agree to be injected? Or do you just send a couple of big Gestapo goons to their door and hold them down whilst they’re injected? (BTW, I have a multi-stage RO system that filters out pretty much everything, including fluorine. I’m wondering if that’s OK with you?)

0bama looks you right in the eye and says:

“you must inject this into your children. it’s for their own good and the good of the community”

what would you do?

“I guess being for freedom would be really unusual?” he said during a Monday CNBC appearance. “I don’t understand the point why that would be controversial.” - Sen. Rand Paul (R).

I’m confused. Maybe someone can clear this up for me. Vaccines are suppose to prevent the disease, so the only ones who would get ill are those who refuse vaccines and maybe those who need a booster. What’s the problem?

We had our children vaccinated with some, but not all, vaccines. People can make sound choices if informed. Not all vaccines have the same value.
