thanks. How long can our military be effective at this rate?
I doubt if Obama is going to even consider a pardon for someone who killed Muslims. We need to direct the petition to all the Candidates for the GOP nomination. Make them go on the record that if elected they will immediately issue a pardon.
Don’t expect anything from the democrats. As long as there is a democrat in the White House, this kid is going to be breaking rocks.
A very good question to which I’d speculate not long under 0bama.
Even if we get a president that will support our military I wonder how long it will take for them to recover from the damage this one has done.
“Lt. Lorance has been hung out to dry for Obama’s R.O.E.”
What more could one expect from the Hero of Benghazi ?
His own guys said this LT needs to fry for his actions. That’s enough for me.

According to the Record of Trial, Lt. Lorance's actions while leading the platoon were far from perfect. He was--after all-- convicted of making threatening remarks to Afghan civilians as well as obstruction of justice for omitting several details about the incident to his superiors. Even taking this information into consideration, the punishment doesn't seem to fit the crime.
What is at issue appears to be that day, that information, and that decision. Should we convict of someone of murder because they had a prior accusation of shoplifting?
Some well known freeper (can’t remember at the moment) has a tagline that says something like, ‘assuming Obama’s a Muslim makes everything he does make sense’.
Occam’s Razor?
Thank you so much!
God bless Col. West.

Army Times is Gannett, it’s on the do not post list. Not even a one sentence excerpt.

OK
You could repost just the link with a brief explanation in your own words.
By S.A. Miller - The Washington Times - Tuesday, January 13, 2015
Three Republican congressmen have taken up the cause of Clint Lorance, a jailed former Army lieutenant fighting to overturn his murder conviction by a U.S. military court for killing two Afghan men in a war zone.
The lawmakers sent a letter Tuesday to Secretary of the Army John McHugh alerting him that they were closely following the appeals process and pressing court officers to review new evidence in Lorances case, which hinges on whether he violated the rules of engagement for the war zone.
It is our belief, based on information brought to our attention, that Lorances case requires further review, wrote the lawmakers, led by California Rep. Duncan Hunter, a Marine combat veteran.
The new evidence purportedly shows that the two Afghan men who were shot on Lorances orders could have been involved in planting improvised explosive devices, or IEDs, according to the letter.

Thanks for the link, FSE. I’ll check it out.
What is surprising to me is a major outlet like Fox running with this if that info is out there and easily accessed. Something’s not coming together. It would only make them look ignorant. It’s always possible that they are, but something’s not adding up in my mind.
Lorance’s defense is that the killed Afghans were members of the enemy. The prosecution failed to turn over to the court evidence that proved that was in fact, true. Therefore, having a better sense than his soldiers, Lorance ordered an attack on actual enemies who later were shown to be actual enemies.
Thank you so much!
In addition to Congressman Duncan Hunter, the article names the other two:
Arizona Rep. Matt Salmon and Montana Rep. Ryan K. Zinke, the first former Navy Seal to serve in Congress!!!
The main complaint that may have traction is the length of the sentence, but, again, not being privy to the real meat of the case info, I can’t say for sure.
Twenty years is pretty stiff, but, despite what many FReepers think, we in the modern military don’t generally tend to completely railroad our own. A military judge/jury is only going to do this if this guy was guilty as hell.
I was looking for the other two in the article and you posted it before I could.
Good to know those three are on this.
Yes, we know Hunter and Salmon and Zinke, the newly elected former NAVY SEAL thrills me!
