Howard Phillips founded the Conservative Caucus, The U.S. Taxpayers Party/The Constitution Party, and along with Paul Weyrich and Jerry Falwell founded the Moral Majority. He was a staunch Christian Conservative and activist. He was in the Nixon Administration heading two agencies and resigned when Nixon refused to push for defunding The Great Society.
He's a man who did a lot for the nation and the Conservative cause but received little recognition except from persons like Weyrich.

I watched on YouTube yesterday Congressman Steve Stockman’s tribute to Howard Phillips on floor of the house about two years it was very touching.
