Blame the media for keeping him in the spotlight. If it were anyone else, would this be even mentioned? Also, his life was pretty much destroyed since the altercation/shooting.
Please see post #39, which I just posted.
If he were really smart he would have moved far far far away by now
And cops never lie.
The deciding factor to me is that the charges were reduced very quickly to a misdemeanor, then dropped completely.
If Zimmerman did knowingly assault an ATF officer, they would have thrown him under the jail. People simply don't get away with challenging an officer.
Even with 5 officers to to take the stand against Zimmerman on what should have been a slam-dunk conviction, the State Prosecutor chose to drop the charges. It's not difficult to read between the lines and realize there was evidence or witnesses contradicting the "official" report.
Zimmerman doesn't appear to be any angel. But, given how this case was quickly dropped, bringing it up is little more than an attempt at character assassination.
Well, the source FBI report portion of the link you provided said this:
“...After being advised of the identity of the contacting agents, FANNIN, LENT, GILMORE and FLEISCHMAN provided the following information?...”
I know that the FBI has been degrading in quality of its agents, but this report is, at best, piss poor. A standard investigative report purporting to be a transcription of an interview (or series of interviews?) separates who specifically said what. So the report may include some things that “they” said but not include some things that another person who is a part of the “they” said. So you can feel free to place your complete trust in agents who now work under Eric Holder’s DOJ, but I’ll hold out my judgement.
To me, when there is a history of multiple people testifying to a person's pattern of behavior, that person most likely does have that pattern of behavior.

The ATF agents' story is the same as when he was first arrested in 2005.

He took a plea deal, and in return for attending an anti-alcohol program, the charges were reduced. If that were the only thing on his record, this would be a different story. But there's a string of domestic violence claims made by different women.
If your daughter (assuming either of you have one) ever brought home a young man with this same kind of history, and he told you that everyone is lying about him, would you believe him?
There's a pattern here. It doesn't mean he was guilty in the Trayvon Martin case; he was brought to trial, and the jury found him not guilty. But, apparently, he always had some issues.
multiple people testifying attesting
either of you have has
I have no doubt that Zimmerman has some "issues". But, I believe it is simply his choice in mates: he's apparently attracted to ones that have their own issues. He might be trying to help them, or he might find other qualities attractive. But, he has certainly made some poor choices.
You may remember that in both of the earlier domestic violence arrested, the charges were dropped -- because the accusers recanted. By their own admission, they were lying at some point, one way or another.
And in this case, no call to police was made at all. Zimmerman was arrested only after the accuser was stopped for a traffic violation, and she told the officer about a alleged thrown wine bottle. Why did she wait until then? Was she trying to get sympathy from the officer?
As others have posted, George has a target on his back -- both literally and figuratively. He has to learn to walk a very narrow line, and avoid people that will make life more difficult for him.
But most of all, he has to learn to avoid a domestic confrontation. The odds are stacked against men in domestic violence cases, and they are especially stacked against George. He can't win, so he has to recognize the red flags before things escalate and either defuse it or end the relationship.
Here’s the important question ... do all of these incidents that involve George Zimmerman’s brushes with the law give us an indication that he really was the aggressor against Trayvon Martin and that he actually got away with the murder of a teenager?
I ask because THAT is what men like Al Sharpton are going to argue.
The answer is NO.
No, I don't believe so. A court of law determined that he was not guilty. (IMHO, he did set off the chain of events, but there's no law against setting off a chain of events.)
However, his history does indicate that there are some issues, imho.
I didn’t miss that one officer was terminated. One officer being terminated doesn’t mean that he/she or any of the other officers lied about what happened in 2005.
The charges were dropped in return for him entering an anti-alcohol abuse program. This is very common. I have a sibling who, many years ago, agreed to go through a similar program in return for charges being dropped. The defendant must pay for the program; it seems to be a money-maker for police departments.
As for the arrests for domestic violence, in my opinion, where there’s smoke, there’s probably a fire. It just doesn’t make sense that all of these people - the officers, the girlfriends, and the wife - have been lying, especially since it all began before the Trayvon Martin case.
