Absolutely! Most people who become cops do so because they feel called to the job. Yes, they could quit, but they feel a responsibility to protect the citizens in their cities and neighborhoods. Watch the show Drugs, Inc. on Nat Geo. Depressing, but it shows how dedicated cops are in trying to put a dent in the destruction that the drug trade is causing in our cities and towns. It also demonstrates why cops need so much military style equipment. The cartels are armed with some wicked firepower.

Please. That may have been the case in years gone by, but in my experience, it would seem that a lot of police are in it for the money and benefits, not to mention the "perks" that come with carrying a gun and a badge.
