It does, but its still produces a good bit less than gasoline. Here you can do a electricity vs gasoline comparison based on your zip code or look at the national average.

Regardless, I think EVs are great for the geopolitical benefits, the potential for cleaner air in big cities, and the cheap recharge costs.

The cheap recharge costs is because you circumvent the gas tax. That won’t last.
