Yes, we broke communism’s back in Russia. The problem was that we didn’t have a competent foreign policy in place to nurture anything resembling a democratic replacement, and so the party bosses seized power in a kleptocracy. But that later failure doesn’t change the fact that we won the Cold War by engaging our enemy and letting their people see the superiority of our way of life.
Your policy has failed to free Cuba for half a century. It has served only to prop up the dictatorship. We need to be smarter, set aside our egos and face the world as it really is.

“My” policy? WTF are you talking about? What is “your” policy- is it obamaumaos? Because, if you haven’t been to Cuba you wouldn’t know a GD thing about the potential for a “policy” to succeed. Raul’s little “speech” to Cuba re-asserted they will remain “communist” so that puts pay to any lib-ass BS about “opening” up. Here’s how it works today and in the future with any and all apparatchik descendants (who ARE champing at the bit for the cash they can rake off of stupid yanquis) of the thugocracy in Cuba— the castros control all commerce in Cuba— period.
The “Canadian” “activists” who pushed for this are supported by Canadian mining interests who are already THERE in Cuba. They “employ” cubanos in the nickel mines for literally pennies an hour and the “tipping” fee per employee is a significant amount of money that goes straight to the castros— not to Cuba— to the castros. That’s just one example of this slave state Gulag. There are in total 85 Canadian companies and subsidiaries operating in Cuba, including brewer Labatt Breweries and Pizza Nova. Everyone of these outfits pays employee taxes to the Castro.
OK? No amount of US “investment” (read- crony lib capitalism for “select” obamaumao donor companies) would be allowed to freely employ cubanos without the “mordida” fee. The neo-socialist Canadians (aka the Commonwealth of Canada)are just fine with this slavery arrangement. And none of this will “change” under obamaumao’s “opening” of Cuba. It is a farce and a sop to make his ultra leftie pals like DeBlasio (communists) happy and his world network of marxist thieves happy.
If we had let cuba alone- under current conditions— they would have gone belly up in about a month, and finally the bastards who could get out— would make an exodus. They cannot, will not, and have not EVER paid the amounts they owe to the many countries who have loaned them any. The Canadians extract nickel among other minerals- for the slave trade they support, and they are unconcerned about it. Let’s hear it for our venture socialist friends of obamaumao (masquerading as libertarians) to the North.
Second, there never was a possiblity of anything other than the thugocracy taking over in Russia. You so brilliant that you think the US could have “created” a democracy out of Stalin’s prison state? All these states are just police states with a wealthy junta of owners who stole from their country to get theirs- which is all marxism expressed is about- to foment revolution and take over from the former owners, that’s all.
In case you haven’t noticed— we didn’t win the Cold War, we outspent them and then we mortgaged it out, amortized it, only to find it is being continued in another form with help from the very same actors (still coordinated through the Comintern, and with the help of the islamofascists worldwide, just as Lenin recommended in the old Ukraine— use the islamo systems worldwide). It is useful idiots who think they can “deal” with committed communists in Cuba or elsewhere (or with the country of Russia— a govt. with a gas station business). Hey, maybe a front islamo pal friend of obamaumao’s can get the painting contract for Havana— interfaced with a Jesuit “face” payoff to the Vatican. The entire episode here is a farce and a lie. The Cuban people will continue to try to escape this Gulag nightmare.
The answer FRiend is that the country of Cuba has had EVERY opportunity to be free— without the US trade, and it has chosen the system it has because of the people who RUN it. Without oil from Mexico, Venezuela and loans/props from Spain, Russian and a host of others— who never have been repaid (btw, the tab Putin recently waived- not knowing his
cash machine would approach $40 a barrel- that amount was $32Billion in USD- even more to the Russian ruble conversion).
You’ll note that not one Euro or other country gives a shiite about Cuba’s freedom. The canadians use the country as a pervert paradise to come there and find little boys, or girls, or whores of every description for their little “vacations” in cloistered island resorts. Money the regular Cuban people never see, and indeed are not allowed to have.
Raul Castro is human rights criminal-a mass murderer, and so too, is his brother, and Alarcon and the entire Cuban “legislative” body. No amount of pie in the sky Randianism will replace that reality. What would would be an invasion of liberation, but JFK signed off on that many years ago.
