Do you think she should be in charge of a committee making tax policy in Nevada?

I don’t know all the details, but if what she is saying is indeed the case with a dishonest bookkeeper, she should be cut some slack as long as she is in the process of making things right. And in this case, it doesn’t look like she waited until she was caught to do so like so many politicians. From the article: “Once we learned what was really going on, my accountant, the IRS and I came up with a fair and workable solution and a payment plan,” she said. “I took full responsibility and I have been in full compliance ever since.”

BTW, I personally know someone in a medical practice whose well trusted and loved bookkeeper managed to embezzle hundreds of thousands of dollars over the course of 10 years. It happens. The money is gone, and my friend is having to pick up the pieces and deal with the mess made by their employee.

Heeeell no! Can’t manage her own financials, she surely cannot manage the taxpayer financials.

I think the IRS is a bunch of incompetent scumbag unprosecuted felons, with junk tax software to boot.

An IRS lien is not a big deal as long as she making payments on what is owed. The lien is used as a way of making sure the IRS gets its money.

They actually cannot force you to sell your house by the way (a lot of people don't know that).
