Senator McCain seems unable to differentiate between the very real physical torture that he endured, which left permanent physical impairment, and the psychological treatment of the captured Islamic jihadist militants, who did NOT suffer lasting physical harm.
These are people who do not respond to sweet reason and charm, once their confidence is gained. They are hardened, far beyond any early experience of John McCain, and conditioned to believe it is some kind of honor to deceive their captors, a point of view which with I am sure the Senator may identify.
But the fact that John McCain may identify with the prisoners, does not mean that they necessarily identify with HIM. And what happened to McCain was so much more brutal and unrelenting than what happened to the Islamic jihadist militants, there is no parallel.
Lastly, his five years in that VC prison turned him into a lunatic which would be OK except that he inflicts his pathologies on the American people. Backstabber and a publicity hound. Don't get between the TV cameras and this senile old fool. He seems to be on meds that (side effect) warp his mind.
