In 1973-74 Colin Powell was a LTC. He was given the most prestigious Battalion command in the entire 2nd Infantry Division in Korea. Yes, he had the only US battalion with any troops on the DMZ. Powell could not stop his own race riots. His APC’s were not combat ready. Powell made O-6 regardless. AA made Powell just as it has Obama.
