cnbc ^ | Katie Kramer

Gas prices, on average, are about 50 cents less a gallon than a year ago, giving a de facto tax cut and providing relief to millions of consumers as the holiday season kicks into high gear. However, a growing number of politicians have suggested that, given cheaper fuel costs, conditions might be ripe to hike federal taxes on gas in order to help fund infrastructure projects.

Rendell is one of those voices. He supports raising the federal gas tax—

Yea, my current (and soon to be former) Congressman Tom Petri has said the same thing. I can’t wait for him to be GONE — Jan. 1.

These SOBs never met a tax they didn’t like. As soon as we come up for air, these criminals have their foot on our heads.

Here in CA there is a Democrat super majority that passed a $1.20 a gallon tax on gas a few months back.
I think we already pay 80 cents on taxes, but when the other $1.20 hits I believe even the people of CA will hand Democrats their shorts.

SURE - LETS GIVE THEM MORE TAX MONEY TO SPEND ON ‘SHOVEL-READY’ PROJECTS

It’s not like they will waste it all with nothing to show for $18 Trillion in national debt

Better yet, the federal retail excise should be ended, and a $10/bbl import and export tax put on petroleum.

A perfect lesson for our kids in the manner in which political power, or the pursuit of it, corrupts people.

This latest windfall for Americans goes against, “Energy prices will necessarily HAVE to skyrocket.” BHO - 2008.

BHO certainly can have American Citizens saving their own money. That goes against his plan for “fundamental transformation.”

Because you want to hurt the US refinery business and put an end to our refining surplus capacity and the associated jobs?

Do not look for the government to help any business. The best they can do is get out of the way.

Because we have most of the illegals, most of the welfare and all the illegal children are the reason the teacher’s union is employed so heavily with the highest pay in the country.

Poverty is a big business and it votes Democrat.

Look, talk about stupid uninformed voters; Gov. Brown upon leaving his office in the 70s made an executive order giving all our Colorado water to two other states for free. Now we are suffering droughts and paying through the nose for water for decades due to Brown.
So what do voters do? They elect him again.

Teacher’s union and other government employees spend tens of millions an election cycle telling lies to the voters to twist their minds. The press are Democrat partisans and the end justifies the means.

This is NOT the California I moved to so many decades ago.
Dirty everywhere, poor business environment, lower class people around with in truth about 20% unemployment.

I have property paid for and have family here already who are in the same boat. I would never in this day and age move to California again.

The gas tax here in PA where Ed Rendell lives is in the process of rising 28 cents a gallon. We got the first ten cents at the beginning of 2014.

I guess Mr. Rendell is seeing what our soon to be ex-Republican governor did in signing off on the tax hike.

Tom Corbett and the GOP run legislature made the wrong move in raising gas taxes but the voters weren’t too bothered by it.

The legislators won but Corbett lost because Penn State fans attribute the fallout of Sandusky including Joe Paterno’s fall as being the result of the grand jury investigation Corbett started.

Bastard. The state and federal gas tax should be eliminated. That would usher in an era of prosperity.

I’m at the point that if any politician even suggests a new tax I want them out of office. If that’s their only solution to a problem, they become the problem for me!!!
