How Conservatives Can Attack Obama’s Immigration Plan Without Alienating Hispanics
Daily Signal ^ | 11/23/14 | Mike Gonzalez

Posted on 11/23/2014 1:38:39 PM PST by SoFloFreeper

....it’s crucial for conservatives to do two things that may seem contradictory but are in fact complementary. The first is to fight executive amnesty through all means available. The second is to not allow the issue of illegal immigration to control the Right’s message to Hispanic Americans....

it should not be hard to fight executive action. There are upward of five videos of the president himself telling crowds (mostly Hispanic, in fact) that it would be illegal for him to act on his own....

Conservatives of all parties must remain united and single-minded in action and message. They should not fall for the Obama trap of passing “a bill that I can sign.”

As conservatives fight adding these 5 million future voters, they must court the other 46 million Hispanics.

Enlisting these Hispanics...is key. It’s also easier than people think.

Consider Kansas as Exhibit A. The Hispanic vote there is certainly not negligible, and growing at 6 percent annually. A tax-cutting Gov. Sam Brownback won this Hispanic vote outright. The president is no doubt aware that the GOP did very well with Hispanics two weeks ago, and doubling down on illegal immigration may be his response.

The GOP improved vastly on Mitt Romney’s 2012 performance among Hispanics, winning 36 percent of the vote...If you exclude the non-competitive states of California (where Brown got 76 percent of the Hispanic vote) and New York (where 69 percent voted for Cuomo), the numbers get far better.

In the battleground states of Florida, Colorado, New Mexico, and Nevada—the states that do count—the GOP did very well.

Ask them, why did they or their ancestors leave the old country and come to the US? For many, one reason was the personal security and economic opportunity that come from the rule of law.

Policy, and the Principle it SHOULD BE BASED ON, should never factor in the race of those it will apply to, NEVER.

Policy should always be based on Principle, and let the cards lay where they will.

I won’t read this article. From the headline, when a country is reluctant to defend its sovereignty because it might offend the invader, then it is lost. Only an emasculated fool would even consider offending to be an obstacle.

Frankly I think its going to take an outright war to remove the corrupt government and crime cartels in Mexico. We can buy off lots of illegals in this country with positions of power there.

I think it is foolish to assume the author is speaking about invaders when he speaks about Hispanics. He isn’t. I found that out by reading the article.

Daily Signal is put out by the very reliably conservative Heritage Foundation.

Yes. I agree.

We aren’t talking about abrogation of principle in this article. Gonzalez is showing how to market the truth about Obama to a particular audience while maintaining the integrity of the position.

Mexico is not an ally, it is a hostile nation and should be treated as such.

[How? By soliciting the support from the tens if not hundreds of thousands of legal Hispanic immigrants who are NOT HAPPY with the illegals getting a pass on breaking the law, going to the front of line and getting whatever they want because of maverick moron in the Half/White House.]

Those who want this action on behalf of law breaking illegal aliens often mention something about paying taxes and a few other requirements and then the clincher, “going to the end of the line” Bingo. The end of the line is in the country they came from, not somewhere here in the U.S.
Also never mentioned is what happens to all the millions who payed big money, done everything legally and still must wait in their own country? If you were one of those what would you think of a country who treated you this way and yet let law breaking illegals get this preferred treatment?
Also so much for diversity. The vast majority of these illegals are one ethnicity....good luck all you law abiding folks in Japan , Korea, China, Germany, England, Bolivia, Russia and elsewhere. You get the picture.
How come some of the points I brought up here are never mentioned in the talks about immigration reform
Why the U.S. Chamber of Commerce is for this Obama plan for immigration is also food for thought.

They have decided they want the Hispanics to populate the nation and White people to simply die off or go elsewhere.

This is very obvious to me and has been for some time. The cries for whites to die or "go back to Europe" are becoming more blatant and more brazen.

So what do you think things will be like when elderly whites are in nursing homes with all Hispanic employees? Think they'll be well cared for? What will it be like for our children or grandchildren as hated minorities in a Hispanic country? This is what we have allowed to happen. It's the worst thing that ever happened to the US. It's the end of the US. I am sick over it, I am watching it happen, and feel helpless because the spineless Republicans will not do anything and most whites are in denial. It's hideous. I never thought I would live to see this day.

A Congressional staffer puts the number of illegals at over twenty million. That is an invasion and they are “Hispanic”. Why should legal Hispanics be offended if they are in fact legal?

How is this different than Cuba dumping all of its miscreants on our shores?

Brownback won the Hispanic vote in Kansas? This surprises me, even if turnout was low.

That’s right. Our message should be the same no matter where we are. What is the best policy for a healthy United States, should be the guiding thought.

Nea, it’s impossible to know. Look, I know a lot of Hispanic people. They don’t hate us. There is a radical element that certainly does. We see them publicly.

The next generation may be a lot different. I wouldn’t be at all surprised.

The issues you raised are things that should be given consideration, to be sure.

Posted this earlier. Thought you might appreciate it.

From where I’m sitting, I can see racism is alive and well in America. Black racism, that is. White people have tolerated far too much ignorance and stupidity. Rioting because a cop shoots a black thug who is trying to kill him demonstrates how far Obama has turned back the clock on race relations.

Eric Holder, you want an honest discussion about race in America? You’re not man enough to have such a discussion, because all you really want is to brow beat whitie and blame others for things they had no hand in. By the way, the death of hundreds of Mexicans because of Fast and Furious are on YOUR hands. I hope I live to see you arrested and convicted for THAT manslaughter.

And we now must add a new definition to go with the word “justice” — revenge against people who act appropriately when their life is at risk.
