Former presidential hopeful Ralph Nader sent an Election Day statement to House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and several of her fellow Democrats: Quit already.

“Pelosi, Steny Hoyer and Steve Israel should now recognize the wisdom of baseball’s ‘three strikes and you’re out’ … step down from their posts and invite fresh leadership who can save the country from the ravages of today’s Republican party,” Mr. Nader’s statement read, The Hill reported.

That’s true enough.

Nader did get us seat belts. I never read his book but ever since my grandmother got thrown out of the car and killed in an accident, I grew up with a thing about car safety.

I never wanted my children to ride in cars without seat belts. Some will argue against them but they gave me more of a sense of security, maybe a false one.

Because of that accident, my father and uncle had seat belts installed in our respective cars before they were mandated.
