Why is no one doing a hydrogen fuel submarine. Isn’t the sea full of hydrogen?

A sub that runs on saltwater would be better.

Oh, it’s the Chevy Volt of submarines. There’s a charging station in Indiana.

Some people sell real estate, some stock, some airplanes, .................I guess Tyler sells submarines or is a lobbyist for some company that does.

Thing is, they have to surface within 21 days.

And then they most certainly die.

Every time.

100% of the time.

Take that to the bank.

...full accommodations for a team of special forces frog men.

Anyone else see the irony of a French shipbuilder making accommodations for frog men?

Will they include a cheese vault and wine cellar?

And maybe a (very) large closet full of little white flags?

Is this the anti-nuclear elements that want to green the world. In turn we die cause the Russian will keep their nuke subs.

” Isn’t the sea full of hydrogen?”

It is, but that’s hydrogen that has already been burned. To use it you basically have to provide the energy to un-burn it.

The sea is full of hydrogen ... that is most inconveniently bound up with oxygen ....

It’s what we call “water”.

There is a precedent. Cousteau’s boat, the Calypso, had a stainless steel wine tank on board.

They have to resupply too. Seems like all you have to do is wait them out and they are dead. Three months and the inventory is a faint memory. Ten knots? Don’t you get a ticket for obstructing traffic?

You must be referring to the magnetohydrodynamic drive system. You can read all about it in Clive Cussler's "Oregon Files" series.
