Politically, I am Through with Sarah Palin

It’s time for a break up.

If you haven’t already seen, Sarah Palin has endorsed Bill Walker and Byron Mallott’s Independent-Democrat “Unity” ticket in the Alaska gubernatorial race over Republican incumbent Sean Parnell. She endorses the Independent-Democrat ticket over the man who was her own lieutenant governor.

Because of this, as far as Republican politics are concerned, I’m finished with Sarah Palin. I have nothing but respect for her has a wife, mother, and grandmother. I pray that, should I ever be faced with the prospect of having to raise a child with Down Syndrome or any other disability, I would have the wisdom to make the kind of decision she made with Trig and that I could bear that cross so gracefully. I must also add, in light of recent events, that I find the media’s treatment of the family brawl despicable, and unlike Carroll Costello, I find assault no laughing matter.

Objectively speaking, Sarah Palin figured out that "fame and fortune" lay, not necessarily in winning elections, but in being a professional politico and endorser. That is why she resigned her governorship - because much more money was to be had giving speeches, pontificating on TV, etc.

I lost a lot of respect for her at that time, but would still support her, althoughI think she has probably burned too many bridges.

Sometimes, voting along strict party lines is not the smart thing to do. Sarah knows who Parnell is, there must be some reason she chose not to support him. Republicans, or those who call themselves such (RINOS) come in various shades of Red, Yellow and even Pink.

Thats a tough one, no doubt. But some people tossed her over that yet went on to loudly support Romney.

It was not smart of her IMO, but there are worse pols betting support from ‘us’.

Absolutely. I no problem with Sarah sticking it to the RINO”s. Good for her. Jake here has his knickers in a knot, but he’s a GOP toadie.

The real issue issue is collaborating with the enemy. If indeed this endorsement is true.

I wouldn’t want you to mislead people into thinking that Romney had Palin’s support in 2012 since he didn’t, Rand Paul campaigned for him, but Palin refused to endorse him, until for some reason, the day before the voting, she did that Facebook endorsement.

This is just more of the GOPE having a fit because a conservative refused to back their corrupt candidates. I have a feeling that come general election time as we are now seeing on FR and other conservative sites the GOPE have their conservative apologist out in force, cajoling and ridiculing conservatives who refuse to buy the lies again—rather stupid on their part, and out right begging the conservatives to please save their sorry asses and believe out lies just one more time.

Notice not a peep out of this crowd about GOPE dolt John Warner in Virginia supporting the democrat, why that is perfectly acceptable.

This is just the GOPE throwing an Opie Taylor tantrum, ignore the fools.

But (general sense) ‘we’ on the right do that every time ‘we’ scream about principle not mattering, lying about ‘purity’ and then swearing up and down that a cockroach like Cochran will still get our vote “No matter what”.

‘We’ do it all the time, right here on FR in full view of God and country. So it is pure hypocract to complain about Palin doing what ‘we’ do so we can “WIN!!!”

I’m the last person thats going to pin Palin to Romney Ansel. you ought to know that by now. But she in fact did, much as I hate it, on one sole occasion tell others to vote for the POS. and like it or not, that is indeed an endorsement. My point was that it was blown out of proportion and used to forward liberalism right here on FR.

You don’t like it. I don’t like it. But it is true that she did it one time.

I can’t listen to you because you would even consider killing a baby with a difference. Too bad - your child might end up with special needs dx’ed at age 2 or older, where you might not “get” to make any decisions.

It’s worth getting. It should be a requirement before ever discussing politics for anyone. It clears up so many things...I cannot recommend it to people enough.

Wait a minute. I have never heard Gov. Perry express himself as pro-amnesty. To what are you referring?

Read my posts, there is a difference between her endorsement 24 hours before the vote, and you trying to create the impression that she was a supporter of Romney and was winning GOPe praise for her endorsing him.

You are trying to create a larger untruth out of a technicality, and you even explain why you are you doing it, (revenge).

Why not just not do it? It is deliberately misleading.

Walker supports, "increasing the minimum wage in Alaska"

Walker, "opposes laws that would weaken collective bargaining."

Walker says, "Public employees deserve our respect."

Walker believes, "Alaska is ground zero of climate change."

Walker is "pro-life," but believes that, "In reproductive matters, [the] laws grant a woman’s right to choose. I am not running for governor to pursue a social agenda."

Walker claims to be pro-2A and anti-Fedgov -- but then, so did Manchin.

.

This is the guy, the "Independent" who has teamed up with a Democrat, that Sarah Palin has supposedly endorsed. I have no idea what she was thinking when she made this endorsement, if indeed she even made such an endorsement at all. I simply cannot rationalize such an endorsement.

You keep saying “we”.

Who is this “we”? I would sooner stay home then vote for a RINO. Even if that means a liberal wins.

This is not what Palin is doing. She is not a purist in the sense she is collaborating with the Democrats to defeat a RINO. I have a problem with that.

His speeches to LaRaza. His fighting against a secure border fence in favor of the ‘smart fence’ the Dems regularly ‘turn off’ by stopping the BP from doing their jobs. His State tuition BS.

Perry says one thing to Mexico and another to Texas. He has a long record of it.

Let me clarify, I was trying to explain the endorsement, not justify it - and I was also questioning the authors knowledge of Alaska.
