The incendiary finding got massive uncritical news coverage including the New York Times, NPR, major newspapers around the country such as the Atlanta Journal Constitution and the Dallas Morning News, and the major networks.
If their claim is right, and blacks are unjustly facing “vastly” higher rates of being shot by police, it is a serious indictment of the police. Fortunately, these allegations are wrong.
There are two parts to their assertion. First, that black males ages 15 to 19 died at the hands of police at a rate 21 times the rate of white males of the same age.
Second, that black Americans are no more than two to three times more likely to commit violent crimes than whites. They put these two points together and conclude that after adjusting for violent crimes by race, police still kill young blacks at least 7 to 10.5 times as often as they kill young whites.
But if you’re going to look at the rates that police kill black and white male teenagers, you have to adjust for the rate that black and white male teenagers put themselves at risk – not the rate that both male and female blacks and whites of all ages commit violent crime. . . .

Don’t know if the article accounted for it, but liberals often use dishonest ploys like trying to categorize hispanics as whites, or at least some protion of hispanics, when they talk about criminal statistics.
BTW David Horowitz had an article that claimed that black are 25 times more likely to violently victimize a white person than vise versa. To me that statistic is the most revealing as to who is doing what with respect to race and violent crime.

He says that every inner city cop he knows will be more hesitant to shoot a black guy than a white guy. He says is not right but its the way it is. A white man shot by a cop won’t bring threats of violence down on cops and their families even if it ends up being an unjustified shooting.
In some years its as many as 10,000 blacks killed by other blacks. Whereas I believe the number of officer shootings with blacks involved is around 400 (and of course the vast majority of those are obvious cases of self defense.)
So we’re talking somewhere between 100 to 1,000 blacks killed by other blacks for every non defense related cop shooting of a black person.
And that's what will happen because of this. More white cops will be hesitant to shoot blacks who they believe are armed and of course this will lead to many more cops being gunned down by black criminals.
The truth doesn’t matter. They have convinced idiots around the world that police are always hunting down black people.
And which side of the ledger would the Ferguson shooting fall on?

What will happen is white cops will start to stand around as blacks further destroy their own communities. When store owners complain and shut their stores down, the response should be, “if I legitimately shoot someone I will be labeled a racist and have my life destroyed. If you would have spoken up when you were supposed to, this would never have happened.”
