Health officials tracing Dallas Ebola patient’s path (Dallas ambulance was in use 2 more days)
The Fort Worth Star-Telegram ^ | September 30, 2014 | Judy Wiley and Monica Nagy

A man in a Dallas hospital has Ebola, the first human case of the deadly virus diagnosed in the United States, doctors at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Tuesday.

The patient, who is in an isolation unit at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital, did not develop symptoms until four days after he arrived from West Africa, officials said at a hastily called press conference at the CDC’s headquarters in Atlanta.

“He was checked for fever before getting on the flight,” said CDC Director Thomas Frieden. “There is no reason to believe anyone on the flight was at risk.”

The Ebola virus is not spread through the air, but through contact with bodily fluids of victims — sweat, blood, saliva and other secretions.

The patient, whom officials would not identify, flew to the United States on Sept. 20, and began feeling ill on Sept. 24, Frieden said.

He sought care at the Dallas hospital on Friday and was sent home with antibiotics, Dr. Edward Goodman of Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital said at a separate press conference in Dallas. Goodman said the hospital is looking into why the patient was discharged....

” can we ever quarantine enough people to fix this?”

Nope.
But we could have disallowed flights to and from hot zones.
But Brak and company didn’t do that.

Absolutely the first thing I thought of. Ebola = the Red State affliction.

And it's not without precedent. West Nile Virus? Practically unheard of until 2009. And then...waves of WNV spreading once hussein and his minions seized control. The states most effected were Conservative strongholds. I know think that was the regime's prototype and it charted the course for the pandemic to come.

I agree with you about the coughing and sneezing. Of course someone earlier on another site called me an idiot for saying that and making it “political”. How is that making it “political”?

So if he is a Liberian national is he black? The vaccine that we developed that worked on some white doctors flown back to the US worked. The same vaccine did not work on a black doctor.

On a previous thread about a month ago someone posted that the reason for that could be because races differ and that those of European extraction would survived the black plague may carry antibodies to Ebola. Some people believe that the black plague was not bubonic but was Ebola.

Under that theory, those with European blood would more likely survive. Of course, at this time in the US there has been a lot of interbreeding and thus many people would carry blood that previously survived the plagua, even Obummer. So maybe it will not be as invasive here as it has been in Africa, since many have already lived through it.

I guess only time will tell if this is a glimmer of hope or a fart in the wind.

The corrupt hussien regime is doing all it can to destroy the Texas economy.

My wife called me while I was out on a job today and told me the news about Ebola showing up in Dallas.

After I got off the phone with her, I turned to my customer and said, "Isn't it ironic that Ebola shows up in Texas first? And isn't it just too coincidental that Obama hates us more than any other state in the union?"

The conspiracy theorist in me is momentarily on the loose.

“And the question will be....can we ever quarantine enough people to fix this?”

The REAL problem with quarantine is that it will, out of necessity, be along largely racial lines, because this hits the poor habits of the average Dem city slave voter the hardest.

Will we, and our officials, be able/strong enough to overcome the inevitable Political Correctness issues?

(I don’t think so, given the existing evidence with Islam)

No, but any state legislature could enact a bond-requirement for a plane landing from an Ebola-hot-zone....say a $100,000,000 bond....that they are “clean”. That would set up commerce control over the issue and put the state department in a difficult situation. State isn’t setting up entry limits....just enforcing it’s own commerce control over use of their territory.

Sure is one way to discourage the use of hospital services among the population, isn’t it?

Snake Plissken (Character) from Escape from New York (1981) The content of this page was created by users. It has not been screened or verified by IMDb staff. Escape from L.A. (1996)

President: All right, I've heard enough. Would you explain to this foot soldier why he's going to do what we tell him to do.

Snake Plissken: What's he talking about?

Malloy: The Plutoxin Seven virus.

Brazen: Genetically engineered. 100% pure death.

Malloy: It starts with a slight headache, then turns into a fever that gets worse. After a short time, you crash. You bleed out like a stuck pig. Not a pretty sight.

Snake Plissken: I get it. You figure that you inject that shit into me, and under the threat of death, I'll do whatever you say... just like in New York.

Malloy: You got it... Snake!

Snake Plissken: One question: which one of you assholes gets to die trying to stick me?

Malloy: You don't understand. It's already in you. [Snake looks down at his hand, where it was scratched earlier]

Brazen: Catches on quick, doesn't he?

But a statement released by the city of Dallas said the man had “moved to Dallas from Liberia a week ago."

And exactly why did we allow this person to come.

Are they still issuing visas from Liberia?

Someone surely has to leak the immigration status of this guy and if he is a democrat-obola-orchestrated tool. At least leak if he is illegal immigrant or not.

There will be no quarantine, the rich West needs it’s due, equality and all; let’s see how you rich Americans like this disease. Oh and while we’re at it, yeah, let’s get a red state.

so...why have four different hospitals been used to treat Ebola patients? I thought Atlanta was the best option. Surely it’s not a cost issue. Russian roulette via readiness testing?

It's probably best that lots of hospitals learn how to treat Ebola.

Knowing the idiocy of our State Dept., we're probably issuing Ebola refugee visas.
