Romney 2016 is for real
Washington Examiner ^ | September 24, 2014 | Byron York

Is Mitt Romney, who ran for the Republican presidential nomination and lost in 2008, ran again and won the nomination but lost the general election in 2012, really thinking about running yet again for president in 2016? Many Republicans have simply assumed not. Romney has seemed to discourage such talk in media appearances, and there has been a general belief that after losing as the party's nominee, the 67 year-old Romney would return to private life for good.

That belief is wrong. Romney is talking with advisers, consulting with his family, keeping a close eye on the emerging '16 Republican field, and carefully weighing the pluses and minuses of another run. That doesn't mean he will decide to do it, but it does mean that Mitt 2016 is a real possibility.

Frankly I think just about anyone means Hillary as President at this point.

Unless she has a stroke or the Fake White Indian is able to take her out in the primaries.

Romney 2016 is for real

Gag me with a turd. Yet I can see the Republicans doing exactly this: a proven loser, maybe with McCain on the ticket too, which will double their loser quota. I pray that the Republican establishment isn't this stupid, but I strongly suspect that they are.

Romney ( and to be fair, ALL Conservatives) were intimidated by the ‘minority’ candidate and none of them EVER took the gloves off.

Unless they are prepared to do so THIS time (and NOW with documented and ample justification) then they will LOSE AGAIN!!

Well stated. This is about the future of our country and way of life.

Not about, Race, Creed, Color, Gender, Sexual Preference, or name your aggrieved group of the day....

Byron York, Rob Dreher and that wild and crazy bunch of organic, Birkenstock-clad “crunchy cons” over at the National Romney.
Heh
Like the Weakly Standard, who needs these nuts?
The WH and Senate are there for the taking for conservatives, if only the crunchy conservative Democrats don’t pick another looser for the GOPee and us ....

One of the people you mentioned has no actual conservative positions on their record. Guess which. Here’s a hint. Barry, Hill and Joe, liberal garbage that they are, were all pro traditional marriage at one point. The other guy couldn’t even claim that much.

So go ahead and vote Mitt just because of his “R”. It must be like a race card. You deserve everything you get. Trouble is, the rest of the country doesn’t.

“Not about, Race, Creed, Color, Gender, Sexual Preference, or name your aggrieved group of the day....”

THAT means we have to start thinking or ourselves as AMERICANS, again... and NOT go on regarding ourselves as just a bunch of people who live in North America!!

It is not, and never was in the best interests of Liberals, for Americans to stand together and to be PROUD of our solidarity and our nationality.

"Lol. Can’t wait to see all you people hating on Romney now fall in to the party line in ‘16 when he’s the only chance!"

If he's our "only chance", we're already gone.

I won't vote for the queer lover. What do you think of that?

Considering that the GOP clearly plans to repeat the Romney screw-the-base strategy, whether Romney is the candidate or not, I think you are right.

I agree. I have thought Mitt would run all along. He just has to wear Ann down to say yes. If he jumps in he will get mega donors and he can self fund a campaign at least partially. His buddies will raise $10 mil a week for him. How is Ted Cruz and Rick Perry going to combat that?

Romney really doesn't want to run. He really doesn't want to get another political butt-kicking. He fears the public. But, even more than he fears the public, he fears Ann and Ann is going to make him run again.

Poor Willard. Ann and the gang concocted this "Mitt the Super-Manager" image that was a complete fiction. From top to bottom, Willard's campaign organization was a study in incompetence. He got stomped. He got out-managed by a community organizer.

Ann Romney will never give up. She is a public menace. If she makes Willard run again, he'll just get stomped again. Is that really necessary?

They cant. The only people that can are us...the base...by screaming from the rooftops that if he runs, the GOP loses.
Early and often. And LOUDLY.

Mitt Romney is not better than Barry. Jim had that comparative list posted for years showing in black and white how lib he really is. Last time, people got skeered. This time, they KNOW what will happen. He will get to the general and tank it again just as he did last time.

We have 2 years to get behind an actual conservative and MEAN IT. Not puss out, not cave in...MEAN IT. The GOP can collect all the cash they want. If they keep pushing him, then what fool would support such an in your face slap?

Sure, some will. But I assure everyone that there will be a more conservative option on that ballot. So people can either vote for that option and take a chance on losing, or voting Romney and be guaranteed to lose. Because there are enough of us that ARE going to vote for someone else that Mitt can’t win.

The only chance people have to avoid a Dem is to join us in voting conservative. Hardball folks. Learn to love it. Because we are not voting for the Lib in either party.

Romney was, is, and will always be a joke and a disaster.

The GOPe just needs to go away. It is laughable anyone thinks he has a chance. And save those BS recent polls where people say they wish they had voted for Romney. They are meaningless. EVERY SINGLE POTUS suffers through those polls.

The GOPe is killing conservatism faster than any LibTard could have dreamed.

Yes, but they only have the power to do that because the base id filled with people to proud to learn their lesson. The GOP knows they can count on the ‘no matter what’ crowd to torpedo conservative candidates just like they do every election. They pound their chests and then a couple months out, have a ‘come to Romney’ religious conversion and principle becomes another dirty word until the election is over. Then they re-find their conservatism for the next 3.5 years before the next relapse strikes.
