Eight bodies, including those of three journalists, were found after an attack on a team trying to educate locals on the risks of the Ebola virus in a remote area of southeastern Guinea, a government spokesman said on Thursday.

Quarantine. Two Choices:

1. No one in or out without mandatory 30 day quarantine coming from these areas, and 30 day quarantine upon arrival at destination.

2. No one in or out period. Air drop supplies, and let the locals sort it out, until the disease runs it’s course. Basically the EYAM solution.

I would hope our troops would be allowed to either return fire or use some other means to disperse such a crowd. A couple of tear gas rounds might do it.

It is sad that this sort of thing is happening there, where some local loudmouth may have convinced the population that the Westerners bring the disease (even though this outbreak started in Guinea). That sort of 'community organizing' could easily lead to this sort of incident when coupled with ignorance of the disease.
