Ping me if you’re wrong. I don’t have time to watch BS theater.

It's warming up. Jim Jordan is on and he has a friendly witness.

This is no longer your typical House Committee, nor any longer one of five other Benghazi committees.

Gowdy has been appointed chairman over this, a Special Committee, which is ruled by a special prosecutor, Gowdy.

Gowdy announced months ago this committee will be closed to media, and not timed for political advantage or elections, and the committee will have access to Clinton and all witnesses on the ground, all the evidence and any new revelations, but Gowdy emphasized from the beginning that the fireworks will be BEHIND CLOSED DOORS.

Gowdy is simply setting up the Elijah Cummings Democrats today, for a huge fall tomorrow. Even that will occur off camera, behind closed doors.

I thought we ALL knew this already, including Andy McCarthy. Why is everyone surprised about Dems opening statements and goofy witnesses struggling to back up the opening statement?

Witnesses who were not even there. It’s a wipe out of Dem charades.

FNC has more or less dumped the hearing, so those with the stream, could you highlight what’s going on?

I haven't watched it all but it has been polite and civilized so far. But Jim Jordan changed that a bit with his questions that basically attacked the independence of the government's investigation and the pre-attack conduct of the State Department in the days and weeks preceding the attack on Benghazi.

At least a firecracker. It has warmed up a bit.

one of the things Jordan brought up was that the very first recommendation had not been implemented - the creation of a new position (that would alleviate some issue reflected in incident).

All other recommendations are dependent on this first one being implemented.

He brought up other things..maybe someone else can post?

McCarthy felt that it was very important to throw out red meat at the beginning because it is going to be a while before the next hearing.

People lose interest and that is what demoncrats want.

I love how Sanchez throws out the Dem meme that they want the hearings to be “forward-looking.” Yeah, we wouldn’t want to unveil the political/criminal behavior that led to the deaths of four Americans.

I agree. Trey has had lots of good prosecutorial experience and I think he thinks very strategically. I also believe he's very methodical and is letting these witnesses and topics come out at the start only to lower the boom as a prosecutor in the future.

Yes, give them some rope.

I've only been watching on and off as I'm getting ready and need to leave for work, but I've noticed that Mills has her cell phone on her lap and appears to be reading and perhaps texting. At one point, it looked like she was reading a txt and then slightly nodded (like a yes response).

I have FNC on low in the background and Obummer is on - just took a look and it looks like he's at MacDill - not sure why.

While that is true, McCarthy knew from the beginning that was not going to happen, according to Gowdy.

McCarthy is throwing the red meat. To US. He wants to keep us riled up and engaged. I already am.

I just don’t like him to criticise Gowdy before he gets his committee going.

I may be wrong, we’ll see, but Gowdy probably knows how to throw a net without help.

sorry, could have been wrong and don’t want to spread any disinformation, as it now looks like Mills has a small notepad - what she had earlier sure looked like a cell phone to me, but maybe it was the angle.

Thank you.. pre-attack conduct as in thighness denying Stevens’ request for more security? Has he mentioned the Brits abandoning their nearby Consulate 6 weeks before?

BTW, to return the favor, DO NOT tune to FNC right now, your breakfast will come right back up.

I know. It’s hilarious, actually. The Repubs can pounce on the irrelevancy of all there hot air gassing up the room today.

He really didn’t criticize Gowdy, he knew the dems were going to do all they could today to make this whole thing seem like a waste of time.

Not this morning. It’s been bait and switch all morning. I don’t have cspan 3, can’t get the web coverage to play at any address, and am stuck with FOX, which is running everything BUT the Committee.

They covered Elijah, but not Jim Jordon!

Been watching. I think it’s a good first step/hearing - the Dems are involved in questioning, not grandstanding and even old Cummings was pretty good (all things considered) in wanting to assure this doesn’t happen again. Duckworth is actually doing a pretty good job questioning. Gowdy has taken the “circus” aspect out of this - committee on good behavior. I also think that when you see whatsteps have been necessary since Benghazi to improve the security for our people abroad, it draws a good contract to conditions as they existed during Benghazi and what was not happening, but should have been.

Yep! Without the red meat in this hearing today interest is going to wane! Red meat would have all of us just waiting for the next hearing!
