The NFL, already swamped with negative news in what has been a horrible week for the league, now has to deal with Adrian Peterson, one of its biggest stars, being indicted for injuring a child.
Multiple reports, including TMZ, Fox Sports and the Fox affiliate in Houston, said Peterson was indicted on Thursday in Montgomery County for reckless or negligent injury to a child. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said the indictment stems from Peterson disciplining his son with a switch, which is a flexible rod.

I just want co comment - you are well within your rights to not want me to spank your child, and I am within my rights to decline to be responsible for them.
What is NOT within your rights is to demand that I keep my hands off other people’s kids when, as I clearly stated, they have asked me to take care of their kids and they understand my terms.
The woman, whose daughter I kept from going into deadly danger, would have sued me for everything I own if her daughter were injured; yet was very angry that I effectively kept her daughter safe. It’s those types I refuse to watch their kids.

This is the problem. If a boy is accused of rape but has not had a trial, in the USA he is “innocent until proven guilty”. But according to you, no lawyers, jury or trial is needed. You’ll beat the boy half to death without the benefit of jurisprudence. You don’t seem to comprehend that this is against the law. Our laws don’t say, ‘If you are convinced a boy raped a girl, beat him half to death. It’s not assault and battery if GilesB does it.’. They specifically grant the defendant his day in court, regardless of (1) his age, or (2) what *you*, GilesB, say about his guilt or innocence.

No, he is not innocent until proven guilty - I’ve already explained that. IF he committed the rape, he is guilty. BUT the legal system must PRESUME he is innocent until he can be proven guilty.

I do not advocate a "switching" that breaks the skin. However, I believe that the grand jury investigation at the time was probably more objective than a TMZ report published immediately after the Ray Rice situation.
