Gangsta cop says his past made him a better officer

A retired police commander kept a stunning secret for more than two decades: Before joining the NYPD, he peddled crack, tried to murder a fellow drug dealer and was close pals with a notorious cop killer.

Amazing story of cop, who was a drug lord and even murdered, yet was allowed a 21 year career in NYPD.

He claims his story is a life of redemption

Hah!

Capone wondered how the government could prosecute him after all he had done for "The Children".

The world is upside down.

But, but...he only killed BAD guys...and kept his moral compass intact.

I think he's full of crap.

Maybe real repent would have been to let someone else be a cop boss. Something is not right about this.

Lot of cops are not nice people.
Most I know are drunks, druggies and wife beaters. And those are the ones from the suburbs!

Lots are staggeringly overweight and couldn’t complete a one mile run, and many are weight lifting needle boosters one push away from a ‘roid rage.

Not like the good old days when a little coffee and donuts was all they robbed from “civilians”.

This coming from someone with NYPD’s Finest blue in the family blood back 3 generations. It’s a VERY different world.

most cops these days are festooned with tattoos and listen to most of the same dirty gangsta rap that their frequent flyers do.

This makes a lot of sense and it is far more common in most people know.

to most cops these days there are two types of civilians: current perps and soon to be perps.

Wow, retired at age 45 with a $135,000 tax-free line-of-duty disability pension for a “back injury”. Who says affirmative action doesn’t pay?

‘Shocking’ in the sense of ‘I’m shocked, SHOCKED!’

No affirmative action needed. There are plenty of lily-white “public servants” drawing unconscionable pensions for bulls**t disabilities. I recall reading of some subway system in the Northeast where 87% of its retirees were getting payouts for on-the-job injuries.

What you say is true. Unfortunately, it is becoming increasingly unlikely that good eggs can withstand the maddening, evil bureaucracies, political correctness and corruption, not to mention the hyper-ruthless criminal gangs everywhere. Police forces are more prone to attract and retain hardened assholes and thugs now.
