Cassius Clay was a great American and a great Republican.
I admire his daughter as well. While she campaigned for women's suffrage, she was opposed to a Constitutional amendment to achieve it. She believed the franchise was a state issue, and that women's suffrage should have been achieved on a state-by-state basis.

It’s ironic that Muhammad Ali would call being named after a Kentucky planter and politician who worked for abolition of slavery as having a “slave name”.
