Iran needs political cover in the UN? The UN is not helpful to US interests any way. They will gain their nuclear weapon capability by growing it like Pakistan. A nuclear power program doesn't change the situation as long as the nuclear fuel is supplied and the spent fuel is retrieved. All you are doing is conflating the two.
Oh yes we know that the nuclear fuel is retrieved because Russia says so, and Russians never lie. They are known thoughout the world for their honesty and trustworthiness. Iranians too.
