That was startling. I asked to speak to someone in the office to register my thoughts on a congresswoman lying on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives. From there, it got crazy but not as crazy, and then a little crazier.
I was transferred to a gentleman on Lee’s staff. When I again asked him about the contradiction and stated that perhaps I was confused, the man said “Oh look it here, we have one of those right wing, tea-bagger nut jobs on the phone taking his cues from FOX News.”
He then accused me of being un-American, raising his voice at me while asking me to calm down, and telling me that I am just on some mission to destroy our country. When I calmly asked for his name, he said “I don’t have to give it to you because I don’t want to show up on some right wing blog and be on your Twitter account.” Keep in mind, I never said who I was – he just made assumptions and attacked me. When I reminded him that he gets paid by our tax dollars, he said “I doubt you even pay taxes and the IRS will find you soon enough,” and hung up on me.

This is the same Sheila Jackson Lee who insists on being driven to the House in a chauffeured SUV - ACROSS THE STREET. And to compound her arrogance, she insists that the driver keep the car and the A/C (or heater)running.

Its a ploy..
if you are on the phone the other person can say “you don’t have to shout, calm down, etc” for the benefit of whoever is on their end listening to that end of the conversation...
even though you are talking quietly and reasonably..
its just to upset you and make you say something or in a loud tone..
She’s also the one who went off on flight attendants because they didn’t bump her cheap ticket to VIP status. The she screamed, “Don’t you know who I am?!?” They offered to give her the whole row to herself but that wasn’t good enough.
And she’s the one who whined that Texas didn’t have any black universities about the time her son was ready to go off to college. Never mind Texas has 5, with two practically outside her office window. Two have been around since the 1800s. Ya know, I’ve never heard anyone whining there are no white, hispanic or asian colleges.
OBAMA HAS WEAPONIZED THE IRS AGAINST POLITICAL OPPONENTS ordering multiple overt campaigns of intimidation, threats, and persecution of tea party/conservative organizations, and those daring to criticize Obama's agenda.
Conservatives are reduced to begging Holder's DOJ to investigate and prosecute.....and begging the IRS to play nice by releasing information implicating its own staff in wrongdoing and perhaps criminal violations.
We even saw seven vote-crazed Dumbocrat Senators (paranoid about losing their seats) demanding the IRS investigate conservative groups.

•Constitutional-named groups
•Groups that criticized Obama administration

NOTE: One of the Articles of Impeachment drawn up against Richard Nixon was merely "threatening" to use the Internal Revenue Service to selectively audit political opponents.
I got a similar response from a call to Louise Slaughter’s office a few years ago, when the ACA was being passed.
I voiced my opposition - and got a snotty female staff. Very rude. I suspect she was young and an intern.
Yeah I know it wasn't her. But.....
This illustrates the time honored principle that you cannot engage a nut-job on their own turf or in a vacuum. One must always seek to expose the idiocy and directly defeat them. A recorded conversation would have helped. Of course, the enemy will deny that such a conversation ever took place.
The president of Delta told SJL to go take her business elsewhere after she railed at the cabin crew,
“I AM A QUEEN, AND I EXPECT TO BE TREATED LIKE A QUEEN!!!”
