Democrats: Don't stop talking about impeachment!

Rally the base. Raise cash.

You'd think the last thing any president would do is to constantly bring up his own name in connection with the idea of impeachment. It's not exactly a positive association.

But why would that matter to President Persecution Complex? We're way past the point where anyone believed he could govern the nation effectively, so his only political play at this point is to make you feel sorry for him, and the way to do that is make the case that those mean old Republicans want to persecute him. How? By impeaching him!

Obama is trying to take a page out of Bill Clinton's playbook here. Clinton, who actually was impeached, was such a skillful politician that he actually managed to turn it to his political advantage by convincing the American people that the Republican Congress went too far in doing so. Since Obama's governing agenda is a train wreck, he figures he can use the same trick.

There is a huge problem, though. Obama is not being impeached. House Speaker John Boehner said so in no uncertain terms the other day. The House is filing suit against the president to overturn his abuses of executive power, and that's a proper way of addressing the matter when one branch of government grabs too much power at the expense of another (and of the constitutional system that spells out who can do what). If Obama doesn't like being sued, that's understandable, but if he intends to play hardball in the exercise of his authority, he can't suddenly turn into a big baby when Congress pushes back.

But this lawsuit is nowhere near the idea of impeachment. The House is not going to impeach Obama, and yet Obama and the Democrats refuse to take no for an answer! They want impeachment! Or at least they want the voters to believe it's on the table.

Why? For one thing, they're going to town in their fundraising e-mails talking about the idea that Republicans are going to impeach the president, and they're raking in millions from gullible left-wingers who apparently believe everything that's e-mailed to them. For another thing, independents are leaning heavily toward the Republicans in this year's mid-term elections, and Democrats are hoping to bring them back into the fold by convincing them the Republicans are a bunch of extremists.

It's the same reason they keep on with the "war on women" nonsense. The "war on women" is as non-existent as impeachment, but they won't stop talking about it because it raises them funds and gets them votes. It also gives their media allies something to talk about.

But I think this is also a factor: Obama really believes his presidency is all about him, and therefore he believes that all resistance to his leadership is a personal affront to him. This offends him deeply. It's why he insists Republicans block his policy proposal "just to mess with me."

So he figures any opposition to him can be fairly characterized in the most extreme language possible, and he is happy to send out his press secretary and other surrogates to suggest as much. He is not really being persecuted. He is just having to operate within the constitutional system of checks and balances that he decided he wanted to be a part of when he ran for office. But he doesn't like that because it presents an inconvenience for him, and he takes that personally. His presidency is less enjoyable for him as a result, and that's what it's all about.

So please. Impeach him! People with a persecution complex need to be validated. And people with his track record in office need something else to talk about.

Democrats are the only ones who CAN impeach. We hear it all the time, but in different terms - ‘King Putt cannot be impeached - the Democrats won’t allow it’

Oops!

The Dems are running scared but there is nothing they won’t do to stay in power.

If they are going to accuse you anyway, why not do it?

As mentioned in related theads, only the Senate has the constitutional authority to kick somebody that the House of Representatives has impeached out of office.

Unfortunately, patriots and former Obama supporters have so far failed to make sure that there are 67 senators who are willing to vote to remove Obama from office should the HoR impeach him. That is probably why Boehner has resorted to suing Obama for ignoring the law.

They’d be lucky to get 25 Senators.

Unfortunately, impeachment is out of the question.

Also unfortunately, Boehner’s suit stands little chance of making a difference. We’ll be real lucky if it is decided before nobama leaves office.

You'd think the last thing any president would do is to constantly bring up his own name in connection with the idea of impeachment.

I've been saying this for almost 2 months ago. Here!

“Truthfully, it’s as if Obama were hoping to initiate an impeachment proceedings against him so that he could unify the base and bring them to the polls in November. He is truly the most divisive president ever.”

King Putt

Paging Doug from Upland.

I think there's a parody song here based on Steve Martin's "King Tut".

Turn’s out it’s already been attempted.

Now when he was a young man,
He smoked a lot of choom.
Never gave a thought,
Breathing all those fumes.
King Putt.

How’d you get so funky?
Did you eat the monkey?
Born somewhere in Kenya,
Golfs in Abyssin-ya,
King Putt.

Well, now I know,
He’ll golf away our savings,
All around the planet,
But never at Camp David.
King Putt.

Experience is wonky.
He’s a half a honkey.
Born in Honolulu,
Golfs in Naalehu,
King Putt.

Golfin’ all the while.
He swings in gay-boy style.
Drives a thousandth mile.
His score card’s full of guile.

He gave his life to Marxism.
Graven idol.
He’s a real Kenyan.
He’s killin’ us.

Now, when the lie,
Is tough to make a swing.
He’ll make the score card fiction.
Obama is the King.
King Putt.

Mendacity’s his nature,
With him there is no future.
Born somewhere in Kenya,
Golfs in Abyssin-ya,
He was born in Indonesia,
Got a case of false amnesia.
King Putt!
