Don’t doubt the effectiveness of using dummy guns in training. Our own Army used wooden trainers when we were ramping up to get into WW I. And BTW: if you happened to get butt-stroked with a wooden rifle you wouldn’t laugh off the sting, and couldn’t tell the difference.
