US accuses Russia of violating 1987 missile treaty
·FoxNews.com ^ | July 28, 2014

“The United States has determined that the Russian Federation is in violation of its obligations under the I.N.F. treaty not to possess, produce or flight test a ground launched cruise missile (GLCM) with a range capability of 500 kilometers to 5,500 kilometers or to possess or produce launchers of such missiles,” the report will say, according to the Times.

Obama reportedly said in his letter to Putin that he is interested in high-level discussions with the goal of keeping the I.N.F Treaty intact and ensuring the Kremlin can come back into compliance with it.

...

The public finding comes in the wake of congressional pressure on the White House to confront Russia over the allegations of cheating on the treaty. The treaty, which President Ronald Reagan signed with Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev, banned all U.S. and Russian land-based ballistic and cruise missiles with ranges between 300 miles and 3,400 miles.

...

Obama last year announced that he wants to cut the number of U.S. nuclear arms by another third and that he would "seek negotiated cuts" with Russia, a goal now complicated by the accusation of a missile treaty violation.

The Islamic race pimp is destroying our nuclear stockpile as rapidly as he can, and now he complains about Russian arms treaty compliance.

This guy is one gigantic fur-ball!

That’s the good thing about Obama, it’s all pen and phone. Laws and treaties are for infidel idiots.

Can anyone name a treaty that Russia hasn't violated?

Interesting ltr though, basically Barry is saying; when you are all done testing your missiles just let us know and we'll agree that you are in compliance.

Hate to be pessimistic but I see a deal in the future where Putin agrees to abide by the treaty in return for a negotiated piece of Ukraine. All just in time for the Novemeber elections, making the Dems look like saviors. I guess I could be more pessimistic. Nah, don’t want to go there.

It’s ok, this REALLY can’t be happening because we OUTSPEND the Russians something like 5 to 1 (or maybe 10 to 1). There is NO WAY they could be developing new weapons.

...or so I was, essentially, told, ON THIS SITE, less than a week ago.

So I’m not worried. Must be a typo.

They violated the chemical/bio weapons pact plenty. I’m sure they had all their ICBMs at full mirv despite treaties. We always downloaded them.

They had refrigerated SS-18 ICBMs with smallpox in them during the 70s and 80s and who knows now. They’ve never even tried to do their part on any weapon treaty.

Our defense contractors demand 5-10x the cost of theirs for the same product.

“Our defense contractors demand 5-10x the cost of theirs for the same product.”

Of course, my point is that people here seem to get VERY COMPLACENT when the see the numbers stacked up.

...and how do we know how real the numbers from other countries are? China has nearly our GNP, they’re building nukes like mad, and a blue water navy. Yet we’re supposed to believe that they’re spending NEXT TO NOTHING on their military? Well, we’re told that, and some PEOPLE HERE believe it.

And YOU OBAMA are in violation of the treaty to defend Ukraine.

What a punk. I know it’s bad to have hate in the heart but I really do hate this man.

Believing China has no massive nuclear arsenal is insane. They’ve got a lot. Nobody knows how many, only Russia and the USA really announced last time. And we did ours wayyy before Russia did. And even then, ours counts, theirs.. Well..

I was just thinking the same thing. Are we sending troops back to Germany to close the “gap” again?

I thought we finished this crap when I was in college.
