On Fox News Sunday, Republican writer George Will said that America should let all of the illegal immigrant juveniles from Central America remain and ensure they are allowed to "go to school and get a job."
"My view is that we have to say to these children, 'Welcome to America. You're going to go to school and get a job and become Americans,'" Will declared. "We have 3,141 counties in this country. That would be 20 per county. The idea that we can't assimilate these 8-year-old criminals with their teddy bears is preposterous."
Will was asked to respond to Republicans who, like a majority of Americans in multiple national polls, want to deport the illegal immigrant juveniles, 90% of whom are teenagers and not "8-year-old criminals with their teddy bears."
There have been nearly 60,000 illegal immigrant juveniles who have been apprehended since October of last year. Federal officials expect 150,000 more will be caught in the next fiscal year....

You’re right, I thought about that myself while I was watching. Brit Hume was basically saying the same thing, and that is after everybody from Governor Perry on down has been vainly trying to get the word out. George and Brit must keep their heads in a strange anatomical contortion.

I am not ashamed to admit to being petty (in this particular instance) when I tell you that one of the only things I look forward to anymore is picturing guys and gals like this when the civilization collapses.
Like right this very instance, I see George Will holed up in his penthouse apartment, with a box of stale crackers, (cannibalism?) cowering in his bedroom, as a dozen or so illegals are kicking down his door looking to redistribute the last of what he has left of value.
George doesn’t know what an anchor is.
His security people will be amongst that gang, of course. They can sniff which way the wind is blowing.

It's the politicians, I fear, that have guards. ButI don't think when things get REAL bad, they'll have anyone to protect them, unless they all wait it out in an army base for 6 months. I just pray they are recognized on the street, or in the woods, or on the road, or wherever they end up.
Is George Will actually saying that the government should go “Stepford” on these kids and attempt to condition them? Is Will a closeted totalitarian?

What does he plan to do with their parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins, etc.?

If he lives in the kind of residence I suspect he does, he has security employed by the building owners. Few celebrities have close security/personal protection (”bodyguards”) unless they’re at an event or some such because they’re more expensive than people realize.
I see George Will had a double helping of Stupid breakfast cereal this morning before he opened his mouth and stuck his foot into it. George, George, let grownups do the serious thinking and you go back to your baseball [”boys of summer”] trivia and statistics.

I’ve always thought it a mark of early dementia when an older conservative starts sounding like a leftist. When a formally sound brain starts misfiring it mimics that of your average liberal.
