it’s a terrible story, if he were trying to make a point... he diluted it both ways because he wants it both ways... either his grandmother did well despite only having a high school education, or his grandmother did not do well because of inequality... his “kind of passed over,” kills his story either way... how is anyone “kind of” passed over? if either of my sons used this wording when talking with me, i would think he were lying...

I am reading a book about psycopathy/sociopathy - “Without Conscience”, and this disjointed, contradictory story telling, that The Won excels at, is typical of a sociopath.

This certainly comes closest to how I think about the quote. Glad I'm not the only one who interpreted it that way.
