Todd Akin is back talking about rape in his new book and Republicans have a message for him: Shut up.

The Missouri Republican’s memoir offers no apologies for his comments on “legitimate rape,” his bruising loss to Sen. Claire McCaskill or the effect many Republicans say his remarks had on the 2012 field — when the Senate slipped through their fingers. Continue Reading

Several operatives, consultants and politicians didn’t waste any time responding to attacks in the book, “Firing Back: Taking on the Party Bosses and Media Elite to Protect Our Faith and Freedom,” set to be released July 15. A copy was provided to POLITICO early.

“Todd Akin is an embarrassment to the Republican Party and the sole reason Claire McCaskill is still part of Harry Reid’s majority,” said Brian Walsh, who served as communications director for the National Republican Senatorial Committee during the 2012 cycle

He is never going to “shut up” because the only person he cares about is HIMSELF!!

The only thing that's embarrassing the Republican party IS the Republican party.

And yes, Akin should shut up. First, for being dumb enough to walk into a trap laid by the media, and second for being cowardly enough to start apologizing when they turned up the heat.

A simple explanation that he was trying to distinguish between the physical act of rape and a 'statutory' rape would have sufficed.

The RINOs were as against Akin, or any other conservative, as the Democrats were.

The RINOs are the enemy.

Palin opposed him as did the tea parties, and Palin and other conservatives asked the vain man to drop out, he is a self absorbed jerk.

Who is a bigger waste of space, Todd Akin or Sheila Jackson Lee?

No matter what conservative we nominate, he/she is going to be subject to Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals #5, "Ridicule is man's most potent weapon."

If we don't learn to fight fire with fire and protect our idiots the same way the Democrats protect theirs, we might as well just give up now, because they will always be able to win the ridicule game.

You can’t fight with fire when a vain self absorbed jerk narrowly wins the primary in a three way split against two tea party candidates, and even when he knows he has destroyed his chances and is approached by the conservative and tea party leaders to drop out, refuses to.

They did a real smear job on this guy. You have to be soooo careful about these topics, if you’re a male.

You hate Todd Akin far more than you hate Sheila Jackson Lee, and she deserves it WAY more than Todd does.

Thanks to people like you, the TEA party will never survive. Anytime somebody the Left makes fun of one of our candidates, you'll lead the charge.

That was childish and nonsensical.

I did catch the mention of the tea party though, Todd Akin was NOT, the tea party candidate.
