I think they told him in January about this and Obama and Kerry laughed at them and called ISIS a JV Group.

Now the Kurds will spill blood for Kurds now, only

Why should the Kurds owe ANYTHING to the governments of Iraq, or Turkey, or Iran, or Azerbaijan, or Armenia? They have been the oppressed minority in ALL those countries, and have evolved into a pro-socialist society, to the exclusion of most other ethnic groups.

Leave the Kurds to their fierce independence, but don’t expect them to answer to the call for “freedom” anywhere.

Kurds to Kerry: F off....... We will take our 1/3 of the the country, thanks anyway.

If I were the Kurd leader, I would tell Kerry (with the sarcasm tone blaring like a siren).... "You know the Sovereign Iraq thingy has just worked out for us so well in the past"

The United States has sunk so low that we are now begging the Kurds to save the day?

“Now the Kurds will spill blood for Kurds now, only”

After the backstabs they’ve taken from “friends” over the decades, that’s certainly understandable.... not the mention the abandonment of Kirkuk by that most craven gaggle of cowards, the “Iraqi army.” I’d like to see the Kurds consolidate in the north, then move on their own to take Mosul from the ISIS baboons.

Leave the Kurds to their fierce independence...

The Kurds have been impressive through everything they've had to endure. The only salvation from ISIS inspiring world-wide chaos just might be if an enlarged Kurdistan including elements of Syria, Iran and Turkey stops ISIS from access to oil fields and the Med.

The Kurds have been on top of the situation. The US hasn't just been impotent to react to the threat, we've funded, trained, and equipped ISIS!

“Why should the Kurds owe ANYTHING to the governments of Iraq, or Turkey, or Iran, or Azerbaijan, or Armenia? “

OR THE U.S.A !

Time and again the U.S. abandoned the Kurds in their struggle against Saddam Hussein.

Kurds should tell Kerry to buy the half priced oil they have floating around, and they’ll think about helping out in Iraq. Then the Kurds should tell Kerry to go get stuffed by Obama.

Who thinks this S up?

The Kurds are in the mountainous NE. They are in a very good defensive position and have oil fields and oil production in their areas. The only thing they need is an agreement with Iraqi Sunnis and/or Turkey for access to pipelines to export their crude.

There is just no way the Kurds are going to attack ISIS if ISIS stays out of their territory. That would jeopardize their ability to export oil used to support their de facto independent state.

They owe nothing to Baghdad, never have.

The only thing they’ll do is sit back and watch ISIS/Turkey Sunnis slug it out with Baghdad/Iran Shias hoping each weakens the other to the point their Sunni neighbors ask for protection and stability. This will increase their area of influence and help to secure favorable pipeline agreements.

I have no idea what our policy makers are thinking. They cannot see outside the bubble of their mutual delusions.

Policy makers? If the US had those, they wouldn’t have flushed years of sacrifice and treasure in Iraq down the toilet in only a few weeks.

If anything was flushed it was done after 2009. That’s when the Sunni terrorist groups were defeated in Iraq and the Anbar Awakening council disavowed terrorism and sided with the Iraqi government. But Maliki failed to include them in the government. After 2011 there was no longer a US presence or any agreements which could have been used to influence Maliki to be more inclusive. O surrendered the peace to sectarian tribalism.

The 2012 (Dem supported Muslim Brotherhood) Arab Spring destabilized the region including Syria, next door. This, in combination with the Shia shutting out the Sunnis in Iraq’s government brought the re-emergence of Sunni radicalism. First in Syria now in Iraq.

Sure. That was when they turned the handle and it started spinning around. But it didn’t all go down the big hole until just now.
