Senate Republicans' Bait-and-Switch Fundraising

Hundreds of thousands of conservatives receive National Republican Senatorial Committee fundraising letters that would be considered “bait-and-switch” or even money laundering in the commercial world.

The NRSC asks conservatives to send their hard-earned money with the promise of helping elect senators who will cut taxes, fight big government and protect liberty.

Conservatives may be sending money believing that, but the NSRC uses your money to help elect progressive, big-government establishment incumbents, the ones conservatives would prefer not be in office because they are part of the problem.

One recent fundraising letter from NRSC Chairman Jerry Moran of Kansas says, “[W]e are contacting citizens [in your area] who we believe support the Republican Party’s core conservative principles of small government, lower taxes, a strong national defense and a belief in our inalienable individual liberties.”

The letter adds, “To stop Barack Obama and capture control of the U.S. Senate, we need the support of loyal conservatives all across America.”

Sen. John Thune of South Dakota sent another NSRC letter saying, “If we’re going to change the direction of our GOP and build a party that can win in 2014 and beyond, that process must be driven by individuals like you all over America—patriotic men and women who understand why we need to enact new conservative policies.” He added, “The Democrats have enacted policies that are helping government bureaucrats, union bosses and politically-connected corporations, but hurting working families and small businesses.”

Reading these fundraising letters, you’d think the NRSC was supporting tea party principles.

I recently called on conservatives to boycott the NRSC, noting: “In the wake of the National Republican Senatorial Committee’s announcement that, after incumbent Senator Thad Cochran, R-Miss., finished second in the Mississippi Republican primary, the NRSC is ‘all in for Thad’ in the June 24 runoff.”

ONLY donate directly to the conservative nominees that hold YOUR values—not those of the RNC or Priebus.

The NSRC coached Murkowski through her theft of her AK seat against TEA Joe Miller. Cornyn was very conducive.

The only thing I send to GOPe is their return envelope (which costs them $) filled with the shredded beggars’ note they sent me ... They are lucky to get that and not an envelope filled with dog crap.

Its amazing that some people are just starting to figure this out. We knew it in Florida when they endorsed Crist the second he entered the race to already announced Rubio.

What I did was copy Rubio bumper stickers and sent them back in their envelope.

BTW, did I mention how much of a disappointment that Marco turned out to be? (said in the same vain as Kerry having served in VietNam)

I have been doing that for several years. Anything from the NRSC or NRCC goes directly into the trash without being opened.

Don’t throw it away...send it back to them in their own prepaid envelopes.
