Glenn and TheBlaze have been covering the growing crisis at the southern border for a number of weeks now. With the situation further deteriorating, Glenn came before his audience on Monday morning with an interesting ask. In fact, Glenn described what he was about to say as “the hardest thing” he has ever asked for. But as he shared troubling new information about the humanitarian crisis at the border, Glenn asked his listeners to consider donating to Mercury One.
I’m not going to tell you who is giving me this information because things down at the border are extraordinarily difficult and not what you are being told it is. The Administration – and I believe this also includes the progressives Republicans – are trying to keep the lid on the media right now. And the churches are the ones who are pulling people’s feet out of the fire. Our state reps now have gone and toured the facilities that are happening in Laredo, Brownsville, Van Horn, McAllen, and all across the border. This one particular facility that I want to talk to you about holds 400 people but currently it has 1,200 kids in it. Some of them are toddlers. 1,200. 400 is what the max capacity is.
Let me ask you: How fast would the federal government or the state shut you down if you had anything that said maximum capacity 400, and you had 1,200 people if there? Three times the amount. Is anybody seeing a problem with this? The federal government is breaking their own laws and they are keeping this information from us.
I am told by people who have toured and work at this facility that when they open the doors to go in, the stench is so bad the politicians that were to go in gagged and backed out. One of the churches is planning on converting their entire church, the largest in the area, to become a holding facility because of how bad things are. Things are so desperate right now, hygiene and food are the number one problem. Clothes are further down the list. They need portable showers and Port-A-Johns. They have no way to wash their clothes. They need food and hygiene care right now. Many of them have not eaten in days. FEMA is supposed to be down there. They are not down there.
Today, I want to appeal to you. I want you to just think about this, please. The two citizenships that we hold. We will destroy our country if we only recognize the citizenship that we have in our country. If the Constitution of the United States of America is our god, then we are lost already. Our God is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Our God demands certain things from us. He demands us to see each other. He demands that we help each other. He demands that we help the child. We help the suffering. We are the Good Samaritan.
There are some who are going to say, ‘I’m not going to help the people. They came across the border.’ Well, okay, but they’re here now. They’re on our border. Yes, some of them may be MS-13. That’s a different argument. We can sort out who’s who after we take care of people. That’s for the government to do. I’m not talking about we’re going to send them into our cities.
I will gladly engage in a debate about social justice and the mission of God...not social justice as defined by conservatives or cheapened by liberals, but social justice that is taught in the scriptures...
I have this image of the president as a reversed Pied Piper, leading the children into the town. It is like some bizarro version of the Bible, perhaps, except that once the children come, the Guide goes golfing.
It’s a toss-up whether you need a lawyer, a shrink, an exorcist, or all three, to get rid of this plague.
I think borders are useful as we broken humans try to maintain order BUT the reality of the present day is that borders are becoming increasingly irrelevant, your opinion or mine will not change that reality...
and by the way, I live within a few hours of our southern border and “have a horse in this race.”

“Social justice” is the concept of governmental support for grifters through picking others’ pockets. It isn’t taught in the Scriptures. Giving to the poor IS advocated in the Bible, and is the responsibility of the individual.
The people on the border are deliberately breaking our laws in order to secure governmental support and benefits from a country which owes them NOTHING.
Where is social Marxism taught in the scriptures? Seems to be lots of scriptures describing good stewardship of your land and money.
Why do I get the sneaking suspicion that the complete breakdown of these "increasingly irrelevant" borders would be just fine with you?
Give them all bags of food as they board the plane that will be taking them back to their home countries.
WHY are they all arriving with headphones, new Nikes, matching Jeans, electronic devices…And them all back.

I agree, mostly, giving to the poor is the responsibility of the individual AND primarily the church. Government inevitably screws this up but if the church universal did a great job, the government role would be unnecessary.
The American church has become too inwardly focused.
Our country owes these people nothing but compassionate Christian people should recognize them (majority) as brothers and sisters in Christ and as humans created in the image of God...
The most compassionate thing is to send them home immediately and then to build that wall and cut off the benefits to prevent this humanitarian crisis in the future.
Good for you. I've seen other Freepers say that they live almost ON the border. One of them stated that she is terrified of the Mexican gang members flooding over and past her land.
But never mind that. Pay no attention to her, because that kind of information, that kind of reality, isn't what you want to hear. Focus, instead, on your own self-righteousness, and how good it feels to congratulate yourself on your caring and concern for the plight of those poor, helpless invaders.
Another incorrect assumption on your part...since you’ve pegged me as a liberal (based on going through my scant posting history, which I stand behind) and since I have disclosed some things about me, why don’t you tell us about yourself?

If he announced Mercury One was going to do that, he’d likely get lots of donations.
He can put HIS money where his mouth is and get started. Once the first busload leaves headed back to Mexico, the donations would flood likely flood in.
How do you know they are brothers and sisters in Christ? Have you walked through the crowds and taken a census of how many believers there are? I wonder if all those guys with gang tattoos are Christians?
You're wasting time. You could be on your way to the border right now to dispense some social justice.
I’ve worked with hundreds of these kids straight from the harsh brush country of south Texas, none of them had headphones, Nikes, matching jeans or electronic devices.
They did have scars - physical and emotional from the journey, tattered jeans, ripped shirts, fraying shoes. Some did come with gastro-intestinal bugs, TB, scabies and a few other afflictions they picked up from living a few months in the wild.
Name the scriptures that describe good stewardship of land and money...
