Glenn Beck: This is probably the hardest thing I have ever asked of you (For the children!)
Glenn Beck ^ | 6/23/14 | Glenn Beck

Posted on 06/23/2014 6:08:51 PM PDT by Viennacon

Glenn and TheBlaze have been covering the growing crisis at the southern border for a number of weeks now. With the situation further deteriorating, Glenn came before his audience on Monday morning with an interesting ask. In fact, Glenn described what he was about to say as “the hardest thing” he has ever asked for. But as he shared troubling new information about the humanitarian crisis at the border, Glenn asked his listeners to consider donating to Mercury One.

I’m not going to tell you who is giving me this information because things down at the border are extraordinarily difficult and not what you are being told it is. The Administration – and I believe this also includes the progressives Republicans – are trying to keep the lid on the media right now. And the churches are the ones who are pulling people’s feet out of the fire. Our state reps now have gone and toured the facilities that are happening in Laredo, Brownsville, Van Horn, McAllen, and all across the border. This one particular facility that I want to talk to you about holds 400 people but currently it has 1,200 kids in it. Some of them are toddlers. 1,200. 400 is what the max capacity is.

Let me ask you: How fast would the federal government or the state shut you down if you had anything that said maximum capacity 400, and you had 1,200 people if there? Three times the amount. Is anybody seeing a problem with this? The federal government is breaking their own laws and they are keeping this information from us.

I am told by people who have toured and work at this facility that when they open the doors to go in, the stench is so bad the politicians that were to go in gagged and backed out. One of the churches is planning on converting their entire church, the largest in the area, to become a holding facility because of how bad things are. Things are so desperate right now, hygiene and food are the number one problem. Clothes are further down the list. They need portable showers and Port-A-Johns. They have no way to wash their clothes. They need food and hygiene care right now. Many of them have not eaten in days. FEMA is supposed to be down there. They are not down there.

Today, I want to appeal to you. I want you to just think about this, please. The two citizenships that we hold. We will destroy our country if we only recognize the citizenship that we have in our country. If the Constitution of the United States of America is our god, then we are lost already. Our God is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Our God demands certain things from us. He demands us to see each other. He demands that we help each other. He demands that we help the child. We help the suffering. We are the Good Samaritan.

There are some who are going to say, ‘I’m not going to help the people. They came across the border.’ Well, okay, but they’re here now. They’re on our border. Yes, some of them may be MS-13. That’s a different argument. We can sort out who’s who after we take care of people. That’s for the government to do. I’m not talking about we’re going to send them into our cities.

I’m sorry I bought one of his books. My taxes are paying for these little trespassers and we’re already paying for our native deadheads’ kids. We don’t need more freeloaders.
Send them back! FUGB!

Bexardave doesn’t seem to understand that taking in these illegals would ensure a permanent liberal majority in Washington, with all that would follow...unrestrained support for queers and their adoption/abuse of children, wholesale abortion, etc.

He might want to stop and think of the Godless consequences of what he’s advocating.

If these illegal scum are not stopped, they will absolutely destroy our Republic and turn it into a decaying third world sewer.

Third World hell hole is what the progressives want us to become. Their well-orchestrated invasion of illegals is the coup de grace. In 10 years, we will cease to be the USA.

I’m willing to pitch in for fare on a southbound train that holds 1200. Let’s start there.

Right again, my FRiend. It sounds like you’ve got enough insight on this to be a talking head yourself!

How many times have people like him criticized politicians for trying to have it both ways: paying lip service to conservatism but keeping their feet firmly planted elsewhere? And that’s exactly what he’s doing. I wonder if the Rand Paul, Glenn Beck amalgamation of libertarian conservatism is what we can look forward to in the years to come.

Me, I’ve always been curious about what effect medication may have played on Glenn’s mindset. I distinctly remember the radio show when he came on the air and announced that he was going to start taking ADD medication. Not long after that, the cheerful wit began to fall away from his show like so much scaffolding.

Levin isn’t bad, but I can’t get over how many commercials his show seems to have. I actually might listen to him more often if he had more of an edge. That’s why I like Savage: he mocks, belittles, and humiliates the left, just as it deserves.

Not all that different from what many Black mothers do with their illegitimate kids.

I can barely listen to Glenn’s pronouncements anymore, and yet I believe he is the only one putting his money where his mouth is, changing our world
The ADD is near insanity, and I often have to change the channel.
What about the daily aborted Americans? What about Syrian and Iraqi kids and Somali kids. Why don’t these kids being abused by the democrats rate on his diatribes? The democrats caused ALL the suffering of children around the world.
Go after the child abusers first.

"Glenn Beck: This is probably the hardest thing I have ever asked of you"

Not too hard to see why... it's stupid.

Yup, that is precisely what I think. He is trying to have it both ways to keep as much of his current audience as possible and stay relevant (and libertarian hip) enough to capture what he perceives as new libertarian listeners.

I wonder if the Rand Paul, Glenn Beck amalgamation of libertarian conservatism is what we can look forward to in the years to come.

I am afraid so. It's not that there isn't room for some voices like that, it's that I believe Beck has ulterior motives here. It's pretty clear he is trying to get in bed with the libertarianish faction, but trying to combine it with a religious message to sell us on the idea that this is what libertarianism is all about. It's not, and I doubt he is fooling too many people with this new shtick.

Maybe it's because I think Ron Paul is a loon and don't trust Rand very much at all (I think he is much more like his father than he lets on). I think trying to sell this libertarianism to a largely traditional audience as if it's a natural fit comes across as a bunch of BS (and this is coming from someone who has some libertarian leanings but in general believe that crowd is more liberal than anything else).

Levin isn’t bad, but I can’t get over how many commercials his show seems to have.

Gotta agree here. Just.To.Many.Commercials. I can only handle just so much "Goldline" and "Hillsdale College" pitches being thrown at me every 15 minutes. Too many of these shows feel like half the airtime is dedicated to commercials or the sneaky commercials where they mix the sponsor in with their monologue (which I really dislike because I wonder if they think were too foolish to realize what they are doing).

Sad yes. Sad for them and sad for the United States. Their countrys are poor and jacked up and if they keep flocking over here they will put the U.S. in the same crime ridden, scabies, infested, unemployed, overspent government place. Send them back! The charity groups can start kicking in like they do for the millions dying and suffering in places like Ethiopia, Somalia and such. Then the good hearted can fork over half their earnings to the charitys if they wanna help.

To all that shoot first and ask questions later:

I am generally conservative, sometimes lean towards libertarian and always TRY to live in harmony with the kingdom of God; I claim no loyalty to a particular denomination but try to look for the good and bad in each.

I am a son of immigrants, mine immigrated to this country before the Revolutionary war from England and Germany. I am a Sixth Generation Texan, with a lineage that goes back to the Republic of Texas.

I am a white, anglo-saxon protestant.

I am a man that believes there are a few things that transcend patriotism or national or denominational loyalties.

I am also a man that has spent over two years working and volunteering face to face with this problem. I am intimately familiar with the scope of this, as far south as Central America and as far north as Washington, DC.

I am a man that believes if we would just spend a small portion of what we spent traipsing around the desert of Iraq keeping the Saudi Royal Family and the Multi-national Oil companies happy AND traipsing around Afghanistan securing the massive amounts of lithium to keep the electronic conglomerates happy, we could help to solve some of the problems in Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador that make these countries uninhabitable for a young man.

These kids are here and they are not going back...should we argue about the politics of it all or actually do something to make lemonade out of the lemons?

Yeah, we’re all the descendants of immigrants. Legal ones. And they didn’t come here to play the nation’s people for fools and to grab all the free stuff they could get.

Look, your posting history says quite a bit. I’ve never seen a conservative try to defend SOCIAL JUSTICE as a Biblical concept.

I think Sans-Culotte might have been right...you bought into Pfleger’s schtick.

Please answer the question.
