The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) cancelled its longtime relationship with an email-storage contractor just weeks after ex-IRS official Lois Lerner’s computer crashed and shortly before other IRS officials’ computers allegedly crashed.

The IRS signed a contract with Sonasoft, an email-archiving company based in San Jose, California, each year from 2005 to 2010. The company, which partners with Microsoft and counts The New York Times among its clients, claims in its company slogans that it provides “Email Archiving Done Right” and “Point-Click Recovery.” Sonasoft in 2009 tweeted, “If the IRS uses Sonasoft products to backup their servers why wouldn’t you choose them to protect your severs?

“Curiously, the IRS de-allocated 36 cents when it closed out its contract with Sonasoft on September 8, 2011.”

Wouldn’t the company still have the emails archived? When the contract was vacated wouldn’t the company have returned all archived data? Where are the emails. I suspect that the company should be talking to congress.

Why this country is not standing outside every IRS building in this country with pitchforks and flaming torches is beside me.

Everybody,

Claim EXEMPT on your W-4 for the rest of the year and don’t file a tax return next year.

Well Sonasoft should have back up of Learners computer, in theory. The question is whom at the IRS asked that all data be scrubbed when the they cancelled the contract. Of course that is an assumption on my part, but we are dealing with a Crime Syndicate that knows how to cover their tracks.

Charles Boustany ‏@RepBoustany Jun 20 I'm angry #IRS hasn't been forthcoming about 'lost' emails. I'm working hard to get to the bottom of this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kIkq1gE89Ts&feature=youtu.be …

I believe the email company would still have those emails based on the law that all peoples and companies had to keep their content for several years after making contact....we had a thread on this several years ago too.

Those things only happen if the majority of the population is aware. Since the mainstream media is clearly ignoring it, there is no awareness. Now excuse me while I check my Facebook page on my iPhone to see if my friend got his new Xbox.

Just when you think it can’t possibly get any worse. This level of corruption stinks beyond anything I’ve known previously in my 62 years.

Why does ANYBODY trust U.S. Gov about anything?

The IRS had to talk to someone at Sonasoft to end their relationship, so I would subpoena that person to testify to ISSA committe as to ‘why’ the IRS cancelled their services, and what request did they make about the e mails? The crime of withholding evidence will be exposed... if enough pressure is put on those involved and ...who and when they asked for in favors.

Sonasoft is a software company. Sonasoft does not provide servers for the companies and organizations that lease software from them. The software allows those companies and organizations to administer their archives on their own hardware servers.

It is beginning to appear the IRS was correct to assume that the public is stupid.

So maybe I just caught up but ... these emails were “lost” in 2011 and that’s from one hard drive. They exist elsewhere? I thought they were lost after the investigation started. I admit that I was not delving deeply into the issue but now that I am, I am ever so slightly befuddled on the timing.

The media isn’t ignoring it, they’re censoring it. They’re nothing more than criminal collaborators.

A crashed hard drive would not eliminate the emails.

I still think it’s odd that this contract was for only $13,000, is that typical of a contract to back up emails of 100,000 employees? We could be looking at the wrong contract. There are other contracts in the contract database that were for document storage, and for much larger amounts.
