I’ve been flying Southwest for 40 years and have had several comics for the head attendant. Gets the passengers attention. Have been on flights where pilots “dead-heading” get up and hand out snacks. Even had Herb Kelliherr(sp?), the old CEO, up and giving out peanuts.

Recently flew United to Hawaii. What a bunch of surly, disrespectful people. I chalk that up to the union. The union roils up contempt for the company. Southwest doesn’t have to deal with that crap.

If it’s not a Southwest non-stop, I drive.

I love SW as well. Always such a better experience. Delta pretty much sucks.

We flew SWA in April. It was so-so. I wasn’t impressed, but it wasn’t the worst I’ve ever flown.

Got this spiel on a previous SWA flight.

We'll be landing in a few moments and when we touch down you'll start hearing a loud noise.

That's not the pilot's fault.

It's not the plane's fault.

It's the asphalt.

Yeh, I know, a bad joke, but a good tension reducer.

How come I never get flight attendants like this?

I got one on a People's Express flight many years ago.

The attendant stated that a beer was $2, a six-pack was $12, and a Keg would be $330. As the plane was descending, he told us we should be at BWI in 20 minutes, but the flight was supposed to land at Dulles! He corrected himself and chuckled immediately after.

I also ran into a steward on a Chicago to New Haven flight who went over the line when I asserted that New Haven Pizza (Sally's, the Spot, Modern, Pepe's for some) was MUCH better than what they fete in Chicago. He actually tried to belittle me, the passenger, as he made his bad/invalid points. Very unprofessional.

Also, what give with the dramatic uptick in sissy stewards on so many flights? I try to limit my childrens' exposure to fellows who talk like Snagglepuss with a lisp.

I like the one that puffed on an e-cig during the no smoking announcement.

I usually fly United out of Houston, but for my most recent trip, I flew Southwest for the first time in years. I've had funny flight attendants before, but the most recent one was quite funny. It was a guy, and he did everything in a sort of Patrick Warburton low-key delivery which made it funnier. He had some of the same jokes as the female flight attendant in the video, so I imagine they share material. One good one was as we were actually taking off, he said ''I want to remind everyone to make sure your seatbelts are securely fastened. The pilot says he wants to try something new''.

Much more enjoyable than United, and much cheaper.

On a SWA flight from Dallas to Little Rock, we hit a huge thunderstorm at LR. The plane hydroplaned upon landing because of the water on the runway.

We skipped a couple of times like a flat rock thrown across a lake’s surface.

The Stewardess reminded everyone to keep their seat belts fastened and remain in their seats, until the pilot could dribble the plane like a basketball to the gate.

The Pilot said it wasn’t him; it was the Co-Pilot.

The Co-Pilot said the Captain was trying to pull rank and that it really was him.

The banter definitely eased a lot of white knuckles and tension.
