I heard someone on NPR saying it is part of nerd culture. He wanted to blame it on Big Bang Theory and The Revenge of the Nerds.

Another article that implies this moron was a student at UCSB, when he wasn’t. He didn’t have the academic credentials to get in. He was a student at Santa Barbara City College.
Why does that matter? Because it exposes the East Coast bias of the National Review. If the shooter attended Bunker Hill Community College and the chattering class said he went to Harvard, the howling from the Northeast would crack the shell at the Hollywood Bowl.
The article also says you can’t call him a misogynist, because he killed four men and “only” two women. Absurd. Listen to his final video — if the girls at the sorority had opened the door when he knocked, his recorded intention was to slaughter every “blonde sl**” in the house.
No one answered the sorority house door, so he began randomly shooting at women in the streets and trying to run people down.
He thought everyone was having sex except him, and women needed to be murdered for refusing to have sex with him. The author says he was an entitled narcissist... but entitled narcissism and misogyny are not mutually exclusive.
Clearly, he hated women. Clearly, he was gunning for women. Then why did he kill men? Because they got the women he couldn’t. Misogyny collateral damage.
I don’t understand what the author gains by insisting otherwise.
Riots not too long ago. And now mass murder.
We need to rename the town to santa barbaric, in the declining state of barbaricfornia.
