I don’t agree across the board because serving aboard a ship is completely different than serving on the ground. . .or in the air. And depending on which service, Marine or Army, serving on land is completely different than the other.
Offered from my perspective as an Air Force officer that served for 6-months aboard a US Navy ship (under way, making way), and as a ground FAC for over 2-yrs with the US Army (too include Gulf War I combat), and as a joint air campaign planning for USMC aviators.
You are probably one of the very, very few people in the world who has actual experience across all three combat environments!
