Google frequently decorates its logo to celebrate various holidays and special events.

Last year Google honored Cesar Chavez on Easter Sunday.

Last week Google celebrated the 40th Anniversary of the Rubik’s Cube.

But Memorial Day this year drew a blank.

...

Meanwhile, here’s the Bing homepage today.

Well done.

Not really a fuss, just an observation.

No, they hate America so they actually have a vampire drinking blood, of course, however, the fascists/commies LOVE THEIR PROFITS, but we shouldn’t have ours. And, lets call our troops and America vampires. Yep, they have vampires on the search page...go look (3:00pm EST I saw this).

Actually, Google kept it simple and understated with a nice American flag and yellow ribbon image below the search. Pretty tasteful.

But seriously, who cares?

So all the blowhards on this thread who were earlier bashing Google are no doubt now hanging their heads in shame.

Google laid the trap and they walked right into it. Open mouth, insert foot.

Here again is the annual holiday google drama.

They are leftists and hate everything that isn’t.

But this is the least of the problem with google.

Bigger problem? The loss of our privacy.

Google bows to China and soon to EU.

But regular US citizens are sitting ducks to all sorts of web searches.

Google is evil and will become more evil as time goes by.

As most other bureaucratic branches of the Fed Monster.

I had the Google homepage open at the start of this thread. There was nothing there back then.
I just refreshed it ten minutes ago.
They changed it sometime in the last six hours

I wouldn’t doubt it. It’s tiny, isn’t it?

Sure is.

Personally, I don’t care. But the fact that they underhandedly snuck it in there in the middle of the day is kinda telling.
But, it’s their company. If Google wants Americans to see their disdain toward America, so be it.

....and here I see on the day after Google’s unmemorable Memorial Day search page, it is plastered completely with Rachel Carson - Silent Spring propaganda. 3 cheers for Malaria!

It was even John Wayne’s birthday yesterday. But let’s give a fraud a big banner instead.

How many folks off of the street would recognize John Wayne’s name compared to Rachel Carson’s?

Ridiculous.

I just don’t let it affect me one way or the other. When we kick up a fuss over this sort of thing, we look ridiculous.

I think it's worthy to note. We as consumer can choose to use or not use their services. At some point, Google will lose market share for search and other products. Just like I want to know if a company like Costco or Progressive Insurance is financially supporting my opponents. I happen to continue to use Google personally because it serves me better, but I'd switch in a heartbeat if there were viable alternatives. I've used Bing for search, and it's fine, and I've switched away from Android in part because I don't like Google's practices. I do use their maps because it's the best, and use Analytics and other tools for the same reason. The fact that Google clearly avoids American and religious holidays as much as possible tells us a great deal about the core belief system their top management has....and it's not one that is in anyway helpful to our beliefs or mission to turn around this broken nation.
