Google frequently decorates its logo to celebrate various holidays and special events.

Last year Google honored Cesar Chavez on Easter Sunday.

Last week Google celebrated the 40th Anniversary of the Rubik’s Cube.

But Memorial Day this year drew a blank.

Yeah, it was much too tough for them to come up with a logo to honor our heroes, but I’m sure they’ll be able to come up with one for National Typewriter Day or whatever nonsensical days of celebration coming up.

I rarely use Google anymore. Google intentionally does this, it reminds me of Isaiah 5:20: Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter.

I’ve fired FireFox and will never use another Mozilla creation. Firing google leaves me with Safari which is a terrible browser.

Every time I use google to look up something I seem to get ads about the product or place.

Try it, google a location, hotel, object - all of a sudden the pop-ups start.

I think it was here on FR, someone reported they used the word ‘nitpicking’ and for a while got popups for head lice medicine.

This statue currently stands outside the Iraqi palace, now home to the 4th Infantry division. It will eventually be shipped home and put in the memorial museum in Fort Hood, Texas.

The statue was created by an Iraqi artist named Kalat, who for years was forced by Saddam Hussein to make the many hundreds of bronze busts of Saddam that dotted Baghdad.

Kalat was so grateful for the America's liberation of his country; he melted 3 of the heads of the fallen Saddam and made the statue as a memorial to the American soldiers and their fallen warriors.

Kalat worked on this memorial night and day for several months.

To the left of the kneeling soldier is a small Iraqi girl giving the soldier comfort as he mourns the loss of his comrades in arms.

Do you know why we don't hear about this in the news? The media avoids it because it does not have the shock effect. But we can do something about it.

We can pass this along to as many people as we can in honor of all our brave military who are making a difference.
