Regarding the blog pimping, I think you have a legitimate beef here. I doubt very much if there is a limitation on what you can excerpt from this blog. So why not post all 30 examples here on FR? Or just post 10 of them to give the reader an idea of what the article is about.

But no examples at all were given. That smells just a tad.

Well I’ll never know because I’m not going to his site just to see what he could’ve put here. And after all these postings, the originator won’t even reply to explain, object, whatever.

Blog pimping is strongly discouraged by JimRob and the Admins... Me, I would ban it completely.

I guess we owe him hits because he is either lazy or ignorant.

And when you reward laziness and ignorance.. you get what?

More of it.

True, bloggers can be annoying, especially when they post and run. This fellow, on the other hand, wrote a well-researched, thoughtful article and stayed around to discuss it. His efforts have contributed to the discourse here at FR.

In contrast, those who attack bloggers but offer no insight or analysis of their own contribute only a lingering odor. Best, perhaps, not to talk too much about laziness and ignorance....

Would you prefer my insights?
My insights would be of value to you?
What if I required a blog hit from you to see them?

This fellow, on the other hand, wrote a well-researched, thoughtful article

And you never wondered why he couldn't post the whole thing here.

Why hold bloggers to a higher standard than the New York Times?

Mr. Times isn't here trying to use Free Republic as a hit farm.

There are legal reasons for excerpting from sources like that.

Nothing prevents some dude who wrote something from posting the whole piece.

Should we pay posters that write vanity threads?

Please help me. It appears that I have committed some faux pas here.

1) In the future, is it more acceptable on FR to publish the entire blog article? It seems that it is. If so, this is not a problem.
2) Also, I notice there is another forum called “bloggers and personal”. Shall I post my blog articles over there from now on?

Help a brother out.

Thanks!

In answer to the author’s title:

If it is “wrong”, to tell the President to kiss my grits, then the author can do so, too.

If it is “wrong” to call any human being inside the CONUS illiegally, an invader that needs to get out, at bayonet point if need be, then kiss my grits.

If it is “wrong” to disagree with some folks that the Earth has always had changing weather, before those folks were born, and always will, after this generation of humans are dead and gone, then kiss my grits.

If it is “wrong” to call an aberration of society “wrong”, then I shall do so, as I have for 62 years, and no, you may not kiss my grits. BLECH!

If it is “wrong” for me to provide for my own self-preservation, and employ such manufactured devices in that act, kiss my grits, twice.

If it is “wrong” to hold what I call sacred, and not to ‘give in’ to a theocratical ideology, them’s just fightin’ words.
