Throughout history, religion has sanctioned and fueled the persecution of homosexuality. That dynamic may be drawing to an end. Polls, clerics, and denominations are shifting. Theology is adapting. Resistance to same-sex marriage is dwindling, and theres no end in sight.
For 15 years, the Ethics and Public Policy Center has hosted the Faith Angle Forum, a regular conference on religion and public life. Several weeks ago, the group met again to discuss current issues. Transcripts of the conference have just been posted on EPPCs website. They underscore the extent of the anti-gay collapse.
The first session, led by papal biographer Paul Vallely and Boston Globe editor John Allen, focused on Pope Francis and the Catholic Church. Vallely, the author of Pope Francis: Untying the Knots, noted that before Francis became pope, he supported civil unions in Argentina....
The conferences second session dwelled on sin. The speakers, Cornelius Plantinga of Calvin College and Ross Douthat of the New York Times, discussed what we should feel bad about. Homosexuality wasnt on the list.... It used to be that people thought of homosexual acts as sinful, he said. Now they think of criticism of homosexual acts as sinful....
The next morning, we had our final session, on the culture wars. Molly Ball, the Atlantics terrific political writer, summarized the trend toward acceptance of same-sex marriage. Forty percent of Republicans and 61 percent of Republicans under 30 now favor it, she reported. So do 57 percent of Catholics and 55 percent of mainline Protestants....
There will always be Christians, Muslims, and Jews who condemn homosexuality.... But in this country, religious resistance is crumbling. Its being overwhelmed by love, conscience, and a God who keeps creating gay kids, even in the most devout families. Over time, He will prevail.

Ummm.... I don't think so. Homosexual acts are a perversion, immoral, unhealthy, unnatural, and condemned as sinful by all religions, and rightly so.
I guess your flame retardant didn’t work.
I assume you were a retread.
There's a deadly sin for everyone, and all created by this loving (g)od.

Interesting reviews.
"The Flaming Retard"
Ursula is looking quite lovely this evening.
Too bad Flaming Retard is a pooftah, but lucky for Ursula.
I don’t know what religion she is, but I might consider
it...
Hi, Sensei. That handle may be rejected, and he would be pretty silly to try it. ;-)
However, it is quite appropriate.
And a stinking scumsucking material-stealing dirty-underwear blogpimp.
But that wasn't an issue for you. You just sort of objected to the content.. after the fact.
So if a scumsucking material-stealing dirty-underwear blogpimp wrote stuff you liked.. would that be alright?
Boy, living under Islam is going to be a real shock
to these people, the ones who survive it.
Quick fried to a crackly crunch. Glad you enjoyed the meal, Viking Kitty.
I’ll have to pick some up for the next ZOT, Darlin’.
Secondly, any alternate "identity" other than "surrendered to Christ" is sinful. That goes for single people, who must choose whether or not to engage in sex, and for married people, who take vows "in sickness and in health, til death do us part." Do the gay proponents think these life choices are always easy and sexually fulfilling, and if they are not, that they can ethically be supplemented by trips to the local sex club? Ridiculous.
Thirdly, just as our liberal friends rationalized Obama's many unvetted issues, including his bald statements that in conflicts with muslims, he "would stand with the muslims", that he would redistribute wealth, that he would shut down the coal industry, that he supported traditional marriage (wink, wink) and on and on -- in the same way, they rationalize that the gay marriage agenda is about marriage; when its leaders have long ago and plainly stated that it is about legitiimizing homosexual behavior and lowering the age of sexual consent to provide easier access to children. Many of today's well-intentioned gays and gay sympathizers are no more aware of these roots than the average black abortion consumers are aware of the birth control movement's history in promoting a black genocide. So they participate, and demand rights, and denounce the people trying to save their souls as "right-wing bigots."
Pitiable.
To that I add quotes from a gay man and a lesbian:
"Sentimentality is loving people more than God would." -- Oscar Wilde"A rose is a rose is a rose." -- Gertrude Stein
FRiend, The Atlantic Magazine was founded in 1857 and for well over a century was a very distinguished publication. Even after the current marxist revolution starting in the late 60s, it still does run a few good articles.
....AND the dying media has so lost demand it is now paying for space on yahoo?
