NRA calls for universal conceal carry gun law for crossing state lines

INDIANAPOLIS — With concealed weapons now legal in all 50 states, the National Rifle Association’s focus at this week’s annual meeting is less about enacting additional state protections than on making sure the permits already issued still apply when the gun owners travel across the country.

The nation’s largest gun-rights group, which officially opens its meeting of about 70,000 people Friday in Indianapolis, wants Congress to require that concealed weapons permits issued in one state be recognized everywhere, even when the local requirements differ. Advocates say the effort would eliminate a patchwork of state-specific regulations that lead to carriers unwittingly violating the law when traveling.

“Right now it takes some legal research to find out where you are or are not legal depending on where you are,” said Guy Relford, an attorney who has sued communities for violating an Indiana law that bars local gun regulation. “I don’t think that’s right.”

Opponents fear the measure would allow more lenient gun regulations to trump stricter ones when permit holders travel across state lines...

I’m still looking for the part of the seconded amendment that calls for weapons to be concealed.

they want filthy disease ridden queers to get married and then force their license down the the throats of states that don't accept their perversions yet they don't want to recognize the 2nd Amendment let alone accept a LEGAL CCW from other states... is that about right?

We need this to bring some sanity to things.

If a pistol is going to be a part of our everyday wear, we cannot keep playing all these maddening games of take it off here, unload it and put it in the trunk there, take it back out, slip it out of the holster and under the seat while getting a haircut, picking up our mail, etc, etc, etc.

How much constant gun handling and law studying, and sign reading, do we have to do everyday just to get by, and doesn’t all that gun handling cause accidents when done 100s of thousands of times nationally every week? Isn’t game playing and a mandatory holster for airline pilots what was causing them safety issues?

Just become a King's Man. But don't slip up and off your wife like that Sheriff's Deputy in Mississippi just did.

It makes your fellow "professional gunthugs" look bad in the UK Daily Mail.

Don’t forget the goofy laws about no hollow points at all in some states, and stupid interpretations of “in transit” and “vehicle” and “public transportation”.

There is already federal reciprocity for cops.

Liberals just don’t want the riff-raff to be extended the benefit.

how come drivers licenses are recognized across borders?

legal contracts signed in one state are still recognized if people move to other states, like wills or powers of attorney.

libtards if they were consistent with their absolute fetish about gay marriage being forced on states that don’t recognize it, explain why ccw licenses can’t be recognized everywhere but sodomite marriage must be?

Hmm. Maybe if I tell them my Glock is an undocumented immigrant from Austria that may be Muslim (it is facing east at the moment), may be trans-gendered (I've seen it eyeing my wife's S&W 9mm suspiciously), and works for minimal ammo (15 rounds at a time, whereas my AR gets 30)...

Maybe I can get some libtards on my side?

It may seem off topic, but conservatives get most of the libertarian votes when it comes to the Second Amendment.

This is entirely a matter for the states and the people thereof to work out agreements.

Leave the federal government out of the matter.

“There is already federal reciprocity for cops.”

are you referring to the LEOSA law? If so it is only for retired cops. If your are not referring LEOSA, what is your source.
