Stop Crying over Mozilla and Start Fighting Back!

While the horror show involving Brendan Eich, Proposition 8, and Mozilla was reaching its ignominious crescendo, I was in Milan, Italy, speaking before an energized crowd of activists in the Lombardy region’s county hall.

Unaware of the witch hunt carried out by McCarthy’s rainbow-brandishing gay great-grandsons in Silicon Valley, a middle-aged man came forward and cried out in Italian, “Is it just me, or is the gay lobby imposing a dictatorship on us with their so-called scientific experts?”

The science to which he referred wasn’t JavaScript, but rather psychology and pediatrics.  He was referring to homosexual activists’ constant invocation of research supposedly proving that kids don’t need a mom and a dad, because scientists in lab coats with horrendous conflicts of interest publish peer-reviewed papers claiming that the statistics prove that children can be removed from a parent and still be “well-adjusted.”

I asked the audience: “Enough of gays saying they feel offended all the time.  How do they think I feel when they tell me, someone raised by lesbians, I don’t have a right to my father, because of experts and their supposed research?”  Applause, applause.  The clock struck 10:00 PM in Italy.

“They don’t want to be told whom to love.  So who are they to tell children who aren’t theirs that they have to love two gay adults and can’t love a biological parent the adults cut out of their lives?”

Eight time zones away, in California, conservatives were expressing their outrage over the ouster of a techie genius who did nothing but support a cause he believed in.

You know that popular line from the Letter to the Romans: “if your enemy is hungry, feed him”? Don’t forget the follow-up: “You will pour burning coals on his head.” When you see a movement as unprincipled and ruthless as the gay lobby is, you must be clear that you have an enemy. The gay lobby is not your friend. Any friendliness from them is likely manipulation and subterfuge. Remember: your end goal is to pour burning coals on his head, not to have tea and crumpets and reminisce about the good old days when you were classmates at Dartmouth. When they invite you to dinner with the kids they conceived with a surrogate, they are trying to brainwash you, as they’ve already brainwashed the kids. Remember that.

If only Dan Cathy heeded wisdom like this instead of as this author states having tea and crumpets with the enemy. He should have been planning on pouring hot coals over the head of Shane Windmeyer, but instead opened their financial statements to show they were no longer supporting anti-LGBT groups and inviting him to a football game where he was likely getting brainwashed by queer idiology.

I’m not going to stop using what is currently the best browser dev tool in Firebug and hinder my ability to deliver because of this controversy. It’s not all about checking out the latest cute cat pictures. There’s productivity on the line too, which is beyond the scope of awareness for most browser users.

Chrome is catching up in terms of dev tools, but that’s just it - they’re catching up. Anyway, isn’t Google evil too and I’m supposed to be boycotting them? Should I use Dolphin? Opera? I bet we can find dirt on them too! :-)

You can brainwash kids into believing anything. Check the commercial about the polygamists and the child saying “we just love each other.” I was at Ulta with my daughter yesterday and going through the check out, there were several ladies at the registers. When it came our turn, a deep male voice said, “next, please.” It was a man, in full drag, working there. The inmates have definitely taken over the asylum.

No of course not. It is however a similar circumstance where a company succumbs to the immense pressure of the gay lobby and conservatives attack the victim instead of the gay lobby.

It’s very easy to sit behind a keyboard and tell people what they should have done. Very easy to criticize someone for not being perfect and without sin.

The gay lobby is tremendously powerful. Now with this administration they have the IRS and every other alphabet agency behind them.

Officers of companies have a legal and ethical responsibility to their company and its shareholders. Their personal actions can have significant consequences to the company. The gay lobby uses this and the power of the federal government to push their agenda. They will happily walk over any person or company failing to heed their demonic path.

Instead of jumping on organizations like Mozilla or Dan Cathy/Chick-fil-a we should be finding a way to support people who try to do the right thing. In Dan Cathy’s case, someone who has done the right thing for decades.

God has already forgiven them for their mistake. If we burn people like them at the stake everytime there soon won’t be anyone left.

The author I think doesn't understand this bit in Romans. It doesn't say to heap burning coals on your enemies head, It says

Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone.
18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.
19 Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,”[d] says the Lord.
20 On the contrary:
“If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.”[e]
21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

This is something I have a very hard time with, and if it said "and then heap burning coals upon their head" I wouldn't have anywhere near as hard a time with it. Instead it is saying show kindness to your enemies and it WILL BE AS IF you heaped burning coals upon their head.

Excellent! This whole “love your enemies” thing is so counter to the natural impulse to (what we imagine) win for Jesus.

Until we establish two clearly defined sides, who do we fight back against?

Right now the GOP is in a mad rush to find excuses to accept gay everything. That’s a fact.

A FACT.

They are doing it party wide. Now if anyone looks at the actual reality we are experiencing, we have a choice. We can either recognize that together the GOP and Democrats constitute our opposition based on their shared actions (thus establishing ‘their’ side and ‘our’ side) or we can continue empowering the thing we claim to be against.

I am so sick of people making excuses. No one can honestly say with integrity that the GOP is not a mirror image of the Dems on a wide scope of serious issues. Either by direct support or their standing aside and willfully allowing Dem BS to become ‘law’ and ‘policy’.

There are a handful elected by ‘our side’ remaining in that party. Eventually they have to make a choice to stay in it and continue empowering the people who are wrecking America and everything it stands for, or leave it and set to work rebuilding. Coincidentally it’s the same choice every one here must make. Some of us have already chosen to side with our country over our former party.

I don’t really get why any conservative would put the GOP over their country but judging by the flow of daily excuses there are a bunch... but then liberalism never did make much sense. Closeted or otherwise.

I had recently been reflecting on how in America we have out-Europeanized the Europeans. Incredible to think that the fighting front of the pro-family traditionalist war is in France and Italy, etc.

Robert Oscar Lopez might have more credibility if he didn’t treat Joe McCarthy and the gay crowd analogously. Fashionable as it was and continues to be, smearing McCarthy as a witch-hunter and megalomaniac precursed Alinsky by some 20 years. And btw his witch-hunts resulted in real witches, not “Crucible” victims.

I have to agree, there is no other tech company around that isn’t, er, in bed with the homosexuals, and I’m sure they make sure there are no conservative opinions of any kind are heard in any part of their organization as normal business practice. Come to that, you won’t find a single corp giant that won’t censure you for having a conservative viewpoint. Once you get so big, you become a government, and governments are leftist fascists.

Agree with all this - if a project requires the use of a WebKit-based browser or a Gecko-based browser, then that's what my developers will work on unless we wish to fail.

But even for the far larger end-user community, I don't believe boycotts will be effective - Mozilla is a non-profit funded by donations. It'd be optimistic to get 100 people to boycott Firefox and switch to a new browser - and the net effect would most likely be nothing. But get 100 people to be active users and regular, articulate posters to Mozilla's forums who then voice their feelings about the Brendan Eich issue and you send a very clear message to Mozilla that they will pay attention to.
