Rich man who pled guilty to raping his young daughter gets probation

Via David Freddoso, money can’t buy happiness and it can’t buy love but maybe it can buy you a light sentence after you molest your three-year-old.

A Superior Court judge who sentenced a wealthy du Pont heir to probation for raping his 3-year-old daughter noted in her order that he “will not fare well” in prison and needed treatment instead of time behind bars, court records show.

Judge Jan Jurden’s sentencing order for Robert H. Richards IV suggested that she considered unique circumstances when deciding his punishment for fourth-degree rape. Her observation that prison life would adversely affect Richards was a rare and puzzling rationale, several criminal justice authorities in Delaware said. Some also said her view that treatment was a better idea than prison is a justification typically used when sentencing drug addicts, not child rapists…

Unfortunately, stories like this NEED an audience. As Vendome noted, he live near this monster. Did he even suspect before this became public. I have known of some horrific cases. A man who as a child was raped by the family dog used by his older brother for the deed. A family in which children as young as 2 were raped by father and penetrated by mother and then as these victims became teenagers, raped younger siblings and brought in friends to do it too. In the first case it was a poor family with an alcoholic mother. The second case was a middle class family. Our society needs to become more aware and pay more attention, not embrace their ignorance.

All involved in keeping him out of jail should take a long walk off a short pier.

Let his hair grow out and he looks like the guy on The Walking Dead trying to rape the young boy. Stuck and sliced with a knife worked in the show.

What the heck is going on anymore? Just seems like evil is running rampant makes me sick to my stomach. This judge should be removed and this fat ugly nasty man should be retired to Hell.

‘What the heck is going on anymore?’
We, the people, have tolerated this kind of behavior and now we, by our inaction, condone it. Roughly a hundred years of miseducation has resulted in this. Sooner or later a people get the government they deserve.
Evil exists and is running roughshod over this country. Men have turned into women. We have followed this road and will continue just to see where it goes. I don’t think we will like where our trip ends.

“Let me tell you about the very rich. They are different from you and me. They possess and enjoy early, and it does something to them, makes them soft where we are hard, and cynical where we are trustful, in a way that, unless you were born rich, it is very difficult to understand. They think, deep in their hearts, that they are better than we are because we had to discover the compensations and refuges of life for ourselves. Even when they enter deep into our world or sink below us, they still think that they are better than we are. They are different.”

I originally thought this was the same story. Incredible that being too rich and delicate for jail should be an excuse used in at least two occasions - and who knows how many more - and in completely different parts of the country.

Again, maybe this is more common than we think.

Will Bill O'Reilly pick this up?

He hates morally-corrupt judges like this one.

Interesting how liberals protect rapists, Muslim terrorists, and promiscuous gays, yet are so very condemning of all priests, Christians, and Tea Party folks.
