Texas Gov. Perry throws support behind McConnell

MURRAY, Ky. (AP) - Texas Gov. Rick Perry threw his support behind U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell on Saturday, telling 300 fellow Republicans that the minority leader will win re-election.
McConnell finds himself in a GOP primary fight with wealthy businessman Matt Bevin, who attended the event but wasn’t allowed to speak.
“I love the number six,” Perry told the crowd at the Lincoln Reagan Dinner of West Kentucky. “Sam Houston was 6 foot 6 inches tall. And Mitch McConnell is going to be in his sixth term as United States senator.”
Organizers said the dinner was supposed to unite the Kentucky GOP behind one mission: taking control of the Kentucky House of Representatives in November. But speakers talked just as much about taking control of the U.S. Senate so McConnell could become majority leader.
“The future of America is inextricably intertwined with Kentucky and how these elections come out this time,” Perry told the crowd.

Bunch of folks gonna have the same cow as when Cruz congratulated McConnell for the pre-victory.

It looks like Bevin has no chance to beat McConnell so it would be stupid to open the door for an even worse Dim. Unpopular way of thinking, but reality bites.

Hey, Newton, are we going to win?

No. Mitchie is going to clean Bevin’s clock.

Why? I can’t understand.

KY conservatives failed.

So now they want to make it worse by Voting for Democrats?

RINO Rick’s misguided supporters will still insist he is a conservative and the second coming of Ronald Reagan.

The root of this problem is that we shouldn’t be electing senators in the first place. They should be appointed by the states the way the founders intended. We don’t need term limits, we need to get rid of the 17th amendment.

Go ahead Mitch, put another heavy anchor around your neck. Now jump in the campaign waters to see what happens.

better yet; Repeal the 17th Admt and return the
Federal Senate to the control of the states' legislators

instead of having "a fashion show", diffuse the power of the senate.
and destroy federal spending mandates to the states.

Conservative Texans would not vote for Perry for President. He was okay as governor because Texas has a weak-governor system, more symbolic than real leadership. PR Rick was fine for that job.

Our most valuable post is Lt. Gov, because he sets the agenda for the legislation that will be considered. We are working to have a real conservative, Dan Patrick, beat the GOPe candidate, David Dewhurst, for that office in the May 27 run-off.

Bite me Perry.

He’s still ahead in the primary run at the moment. But I guarantee he will lose the general if he takes the primary.

We’re not voting for him regardless of how many Republican whores endorse him. Not...Going...To...Happen.
